Do you want to see what makes me sad?
I have to give credit to Saczilla for this. Tonight I was chatting with him about some marketing techniques. Saczilla showed me this article from ABC. Now normally I wouldn’t be showing this sort of thing but I don’t think a lot of affiliates take the time to find pages that they shouldn’t advertise on.
You need to make sure that you put negative keywords and block out specific URLs that are not conducive of your website or your niche. If you are trying to sell someone on “acai berry” don’t let your ad appear on a site that is against acai berries.
I was running an ad for one of those wedding giveaways. It was strictly for the content network. I let the offer run for a couple weeks before Ruck yelled at me and told me to find out the sites I was appearing on. Did you know that your advertisement can be in english yet you will show up on non English websites? It’s ridiculous how Google can tell you that you are going to target a related site yet your advertisements pops up on a niche site in the opposite direction. I was showing my “Wedding” advertisement on a “Super Cars” website! And the worst part about it was I was receiving clicks. How targeted do you think that was?
Remember to always add negative keywords and to block out URLs. You can literally take a non profitable campaign to profit just by doing this one little thing that can take less than 30 mins.
Now… Get back to work.
Hardcore Demographic Targeting FTW
Targeting a specific demographic for your advertising can really help you improve your ROI. Facebook and Myspace have demographic targeting already set up. But how did we target those demographics before those two social networks came out with their advertising platform?
So, before I begin I am going to select an offer that we should all be familiar with. The offer comes to us from Convert2Media and is the “Acai Berry Detox (Top Converter) (596)” Go ahead and take a good look at that offer. When I see that offer and try and think of the person that would want that product I immediately think of a middle aged, over weight, white female. Lets take a look at what the demographics actually are for this offer.
For this we will once again refer to Quantcast. In quant cast I will type in the actual URL of the offer. Not my affiliate link but the actual root URL for the site. Unfortunately not all sites will show up in Quantcast. But more the most part the majority of top converting offers will.
According to QC the website serves mainly African American women between the ages of 12-34. Really all ages will fit but the majority come from 12-17 and 18-34 (Young Adults).
Okay now that we know who the website serves we can feel safe in assuming that female African American young adults buy this specific brand of Acai Berry.
Did you know that in Adwords you can target specific demographics? This serves on the content network only and does not work for the search network. This is how I did my advertising in the past for Facebook and Myspace.

$1 email submits VS $30 health offers
Who would win that fight? I often get asked the question of what kind of offers do I run. Here are some of my personal thoughts on the types of offers you want to run.
Lets take the example I received from a friend of mine. If someone came to you and asked you to sell $1,000 worth of pens and gave you a few choices of pens which “pen” would you choose to sell?
Type “A” Pen = $0.30
Type “B” Pen = $15.00
Type “C” Pen = $500.00
If I sold “A” I would have to sell 3,334 pens. If I sold “B” I would have to sell 67 pens. And lastly if I sold “C” I would have to sell 2 pens.
This is my approach to the problem.
Type “C” is a high quality, high end pen. Because it is so expensive you can’t really make a sales pitch for it. Instead people already know they want to spend the $500 to buy the pen, especially when other pens can cost around… 30 cents… People have done their own research. Type “C” pens sell themselves. All I need to do is make a page for people to find the pens. I can put as much effort as possible in PPC but chances are… I won’t do too well… Now if I did do PPC again Super targeted because of the type of offer AND lots of spend!
Type “B” is still a really good pen. It will be one of those “metal” pens that you find. Not the plastic pens school students use. These are made for adults! Now type “B” are easy to get sales from just like type “A”. The difference is… More spend. If you buy in to PPC for type “B” pens don’t expect to pay $0.30. You might even have a hard time paying $1. However, your return on investment will come alot quicker as in the end you spend less to make more.

Ok, so I forgot to talk about a very important piece that I wanted to talk about. It’s been a crazy week/weekend. I wanted to talk about how to know when to get rid of keywords that aren’t being profitable. The answer is pretty simple, when a keyword has cost twice as much as the offer payout and hasn’t converted, that’s when its time to remove that keyword as a non converting keyword. Example: On a $10 payout, and keyword 1 has cost $21 and no conversions, its time for that keyword to be paused or deleted. That will give you a foundation of knowing when to remove keywords. So the process of keyword, landing page and campaign optimizing is simply:
1. Split test ads and landing pages at all times.
2. After a sufficient amount of data has accumulated, remove not performing keywords or keywords that do not produce conversions at double the offer payout or less. So remove keywords that spend 2x(Offer Payout) = No Conversion or Only 1 conversion. As long as your cost/conv is less that 2x the payout, the keyword most probably can become profitable after optimizing. As you continue to weed out not performing keywords, keep testing new keywords. So start with a few hundred keywords, run them for a while and then make changed and repeat the process. Expand on your profitable keywords and the ones that are making conversions. You are able to identify all keywords performance by using the google pixel and Tracking202.

What I Didn’t Tell you in the Video
Something I decided to tell you after I produced the video. I put in some keywords of a campaign that ‘i know’ is profitable from a different niche, to double check and see what results PPC Bully produced. I was basically doubting that this tool worked. Well, after about a week of data, literally all of the keywords that I put in showed which ads were profitable and which were not. PPC Bully revealed absolutely ALL of the keywords that I had put in and their ads for a campaign that is profitable. So you see, this tool is very new and not too many people know about it or have started using it yet. That leaves an opportunity for you.
Kick start your profitable campaign by signing up for PPC Bully.

CS1.4 – PPC Case Study Part 4 – Advice, Tips and Campaign Structure
First off ladies and gents, don’t take me wrong by my blunt and slightly brutal tone on some of the topics. My only intentions are to motivate you and to have an impact on your success. To be completely honest, I haven’t been receiving as many questions as I expected that I’d get. Most places charge a lot of money for what I am showing you how to do. Just surprised more of you aren’t taking advantage of it.
By the way, I wasn’t directly speaking to anyone in particular when I mentioned talked about people just asking ‘newb questions’. I was saying in general, there is so much information on the internet that is free, you shouldn’t have to spend much money on learning materials and the basic questions have answered provided all over. Trust me, there isn’t a completely 100% fail proof guide that holds your hand through each step of the process until you’ve built a profitable business. If there were, you wouldn’t learn anything at all because someone else did it for you. So take my advice and make a change in your life and your family’s.
Next video will be posted next Monday afternoon/evening.
Have a great weekend!
