Set Your Intentions

If you’re not consciously occupied with positive thoughts, it’s likely that you’re unconsciously engaged in negative ones.

Change your thoughts and you can change your future

One of the biggest factors that has shaped my online career is this simple principle. You’re thoughts are powerful. They control and shape the direction that your life is going. Unfortunately for most people, their thoughts are consumed with negativity of things such as bills to be paid, arguments they’ve had, and past, future, and current struggles.

What if you set intentions instead of wishing for things to happen. Try this with me. What do you want out of life? Immediate you think to yourself “I wish I could make money online” or “I wish I owned my own house”. Instead of saying I wish, set those to intentions. “I intend to make money online” or “I intend to own my own house”.

By changing the word ‘wish’ to ‘intend’ you can begin to create a more powerful energy in a positive direction. Exerting energy towards things that you intend to happen will go a long way towards accomplishing things you set out to do. Try it! Write down a few things you want out of life and then change those wants, desires, and wishes into intentions.

I intend to _____ _____ _____ _____.

Whenever you begin a new project or a new activity try to consider what your intentions are at that time. This will help create a focus for what you are trying to accomplish.

The principles of creating intentions for your actions in order to shape your future is not a new principle. There are many books written about it and even a movie created from one of the books. If you’re into learning more about changing your mindset in order to change your outcome in life pick up the book Quantum Success. It’s an easy read and will give you some basic things that you can do to help keep you focused on your intentions.

Putting your mind in the write place will go a long way towards your success in life. What are some of your intentions?

A fresh start to a new year!

One of the hardest parts about blogging (if you don’t already know) is coming up with content to write about. It has been about 3 years since I was consistently blogging. My last good post was about Mobile Marketing. It’s hard to blog about good stuff when you don’t want to give away all your secrets… and it’s even harder to blog in general when you have so much stuff going on. Blogging takes time. More time then most people would think. You have to brainstorm a topic, research about the topic you want to write about, then you have to take the time to write it all up.

I’ve been asked quite a bit on Facebook and in email what I have been up too these last couple of years… And so below is a brief outline of what’s been going on marketing wise.

1. I started XRev Media, LLC and sold the company 2 years later. XRev was voted into the top 20 networks for for 2013. I’m hoping it can make that list again for 2014. While I do not own the network anymore, I continue to work with the new owner and the existing affiliate managers to grow the network. The network has had continual growth since day 1 and it is really exciting to see where it has come and where it is going.

2. My passion is and always will be profit funnels. I took some time over the last 2 years to do some private consulting for several companies. These were long term consultation contracts and so I was able to see and help the companies grow because of the efforts I put in. One company went from $3MM when I came on board to $7MM the first year I was with them and $25MM in my second year with them. I’ve done everything from landing page optimization to fulfillment center optimization. I am a firm believer in backend profits and maximizing the amount of money you can make from streamlining all funnels and processes.

Another company I consulted for owned their own diet product. I was able to help them optimize their whole entire sales process to be able to generate between $12-$28 per first page prospect signup (depending on the traffic source). This allowed them to pay $6-$8 per optin and generate massive amounts of income by paying per lead instead of per sale. Their focus went from finding ways to make money with existing customers to finding as much traffic for their site as possible. We were even able to pay certain mailers on a cost per click (cpc).

3. Website creation is where I started my online career back in high-school. The last three years were definitely not void of creating websites for people. It’s always an easy project that can net close to $300/hour when all is said and done and so I often take on small website builds for people looking to begin an online store or just to showcase their company to the world. It’s an easy project that can be outsourced if I don’t have time to upload a few files myself or when I’m bored and want a break I can install the backbone of the project myself.

4. Software creation has and always will be a great niche to get into because it is about providing a product that you would utilize but also a product that other people could take advantage of. You should always license that software out to other people so that they can benefit from it and so you can make yourself a little extra cash on the side. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars for my own personal programs to be created and so last year I started to license those programs out to other companies to use as well. XRev Media has their own Affiliate Manager, Network Organization and Finance tracking system apart from Cake Marketing and I have spent some time with a couple colleagues to develop our own affiliate tracking program for our personal mobile and Facebook campaigns. Both of these products are being licensed to individuals and companies to help us re-coupe some of the costs that went into their development.

5. The last thing that I have done and am still developing, is a non-profit organization. The non-profit has been up for about 6 months as of this writing and has generated a bit of donations from organic traffic. I hope to be able to recruit a team of volunteers in the coming months to be able to help generate more donations. The purpose of the non-profit is to assist veterans who have been wounded in combat. The goal is to be able to remodel homes for disabled veterans so that they can more easily maneuver their house. We can install wheelchair ramps, widen doors and hallways, as well as perform any remodel that will be beneficial to the veteran and their family.

That’s the quick and dirty of what I’ve been up too. I plan on getting more posts up and becoming more involved in the Internet Marketing community again. I’ve been a little out of it with all the stuff going on but I definitely want to get back to being an active participant.

What have you been up to the last couple of years? Leave a comment below and let me know!

Affiliate Summit East 2010 = Epic + Connections

Well… It came and it went.  Affiliate Summit 10′ was definitely one for the record books.  I don’t think I’ve made so many connections in my life.

Let me give you a brief play by play of what when on. I sat down to give you a play by play of what went on… But to be honest with you… I don’t remember too much about the order of events.  I just remember what we did…

Saturday 14th

Arrived in NY around 2:30.  I was exhausted so I caught a cab to the hotel and crashed for a couple of hours.

Benny Tejeda was staying in the hotel with me so I called him up to let him know I was in the room.  He was mid transit to the hotel.

Benny ended up meeting up with me at Rue 57 with Brian (Winley) and his business partner AJ.  Brian I’ve known since December and has really taken off in his affiliate marketing.

At some point I met up with my buddies Ian Fernando and AdHustler.  We ended up heading on over to “Faces and Names”.  Somewhere along our little 2 block march we ran into some kid that… well… seemed to want to argue the whole night…Anyways, at some point, NickyCakes met up with us at “Faces and Names” and well… We took a picture for my mom.

Yeah… That’s for you mom… For some reason… My mom has an obsession with Nicky.  So when I saw him I had to get a picture with him… And boy does she love it. Here’s her comments left on the pic in Nicky’s Facebook account (Yes… They are FB friends…)

AdHustler hit that one on the head “This is getting weird”.

After we left “Faces and Names” we meet up with Jason Rubacky and did a little more… Hanging out :)

Sunday 15th

Benny and I headed to breakfast/lunch around 11:30.  The restaurant in the hotel has some decent food… But for a $20 meal I would rather eat street meat (Food vendors on the corners of Manhattan streets).

After breakfast we headed over to the “Meet Market”.  If you aren’t familiar with the Affiliate Summit, the meet market is the perfect opportunity to walk around, see who will be exhibiting, and to make brief connections with people that you plan on meeting with during the week. During the meet market I bumped into several affiliate that I have known online for months online, but never had the opportunity to meet them in person.

Lunch came courtesy of Eric at ClickBooth!  Thank you Eric :) There we talked about none other than… Well… I don’t remember… It was sports at one point…

The meetup202 group in NY had a get together. Lot’s of good contacts there.  John Hasson, his wife, and I talked about Mormons, milk, sprite with lime, and missions to South America.

After the Meetup202 event it was time to eat so Ian, Brandon and I headed over to Capital Grille for Ian Fernando’s famous “Affiliate Dinner”.  Other notable names include Morgan Thomas aka HeavyT (creator of 2 girls 1 cup!), Ryan Gray (Super Affiliate Twins), Brian (, Mike Chiasson, Wes Mahler (Creator Tracking202), Brandon Hoffman (AdHustler), Bryn Youngblunt, Ian Fernando (of course… it’s his dinner), Matt Wasserman, and the crew of Kitara Media (Sponsors for the dinner).

Dinner was good.  Probably the best I’ve had in all of my Affiliate Summits.

After dinner we hit up a rooftop party… Don’t remember who sponsored it.  But met up with some really good people.

The night was still young…   This was NY of course.  So… We headed out to where the Elite Clicks Media crew was…  Their hotel :) There we hung out, talked marketing, and well… had an overall good time. I got to hang out with some good friends that I’ve known for a long time and I even got to meet some new people. NJ, Steve Howe, Thy, Justin, Greg and Kim Davis, Tyler,  Ryan Machara, Raphaela Bazalgette, Luke Samples, Ricco, Jon Fisher, Nicky Papers and well… too many to name. At some point in the evening the hotel security came up and kicked us out… So we went to none other than… “Faces and Names”.

Do you see that guy in that last pick on the far left?  He’s some random french dude.  No one could figure out who he was and how he got there.

Anyways, I could be missing some details in there… but you get the jist of what happened.

Monday 16th

FOOD… When you go to these events and you stay up till 4:30 in the morning you tend to sleep for a LONG time.  Man was I starving by the time I woke up.  Luckily for me so was the Elite Clicks Media team and Ian Fernando. We… it was time to head over to Old Castle and grab some food.

Our service was terrible.  The poor waiter knew it too.  It was so bad we had to call the front desk to send reinforcements.  But in the end we ate, talked, and left full.

When we got done eating I had a couple of meetings with AMs.  I walked around the show for a little bit to catch other people I knew.  Stopped for about 30 minutes and talked with my good friend Ruck (Owner Convert2Media).  It was nice catching up with him after these last few months.  I also met up with Ryan Eagle (Owner EWA Private Network) for a few minutes and had a chat at some point (might have been during the meet market).

Later that day I was conducting a round table on PPV advertising.  It went pretty well. People were crowding all around just to hear a couple things about PPV advertising.  It was a lot of fun though.  There were networks, affiliates, and merchants all sitting in to listen to some PPV tricks of the trade. The only problem I had was that I was still tired… and my voice was almost gone.  I was going to record it but my flip mino was dead when I got down to the round table.

After the round table I went to grab some food.  Wish I could remember where.  Probably street meat.  Headed over to Morgan’s affiliate get together. Then the NeverBlueAds party (weak…), then took a cab across Manhattan to the ClickBooth party. Met up with Brian (Winley) and well… Had a good time.  Street meat, parties, all the fun stuff.

Tuesday 17th

Woke up hungry again… Called around to see what everyone was doing.  Finally got a hold of Brian (Winley) and his partner AJ. We headed over to Old Castle to grab a bit to eat and talk business.  We had some really good conversations.  I was explaining to Brian and AJ the best way that I have found to deliver email without using a third party autoresponder. It was a very good productive conversation.

After lunch, I headed back to the conference, hung out in the press room to get some work done (way behind) and then… headed home

Overall… ASE 10′ was a huge success.  I made plenty of new connections to help my business grow and I cultivated connections that I have made in the past.  These event’s aren’t necessarily just a place to learn… These events are essential to your networking in this business.  It’s not about what you know.  It’s all about who you know.  AND… Who you can leverage or who can leverage you.

The best IM List you will EVER See! and… An Update!

Gauher Chaudhry just posted one of the most EPIC lists of all time online!  This is 350 websites that will help you make the monies online!  So … Here’s a link for you: Gauher’s Epic List.

Now.  Many of you have sent me emails asking me what I have been doing for the last 2 months… And I’ve been getting alot of questions about the case study… Well… We’ve had 15 conversions… That means we’ve generated a total of $15×27 = $405.  On average we have generated just about 30 visitors a day from free online marketing methods.

So… What has caused me to stop blogging about it?  Well the main reason is that the site has been copied several times.  The copying has been soooooo bad that even the analytics have been transferred over to the doppelgangers. Unfortunately I can’t give an accurate representation of traffic statistics.  But… 15 sales off of 100% free traffic is better than nothing right?

So, where do we go from here?  Unfortunately I will not be continuing the case study. That should be apparent from my 2 months absence.  If I was to move into PPC on the case study then someone will copy the campaign.  Of I was to move into PPV then someone would copy the campaign… Some people have just ruined it for the rest of us…

Anyways, these last couple months I’ve been pretty busy with my coder while all of this has been going down.  We’ve been hard work tweaking a piece of software that we use on a daily basis.  I won’t go into too much detail about it. So… I hope now that I have a little bit of time I can start blogging with you about some extreme tactics that I have been using online.

Anyways, I won’t take up too much more of your fathers day.  To those of you that ARE fathers…I hope you have a great day today! Remember… All that we do online is not for US but is for our FAMILIES.

To Your Success!

Series Update and Other Things

Hey everyone. I just wanted to give you a little update on the series AND I wanted to talk to you about some other things I discovered this week.

The Series
We’re still developing the website. It’s going slower than I had hoped. It’s hard working online when you don’t have the time because your family, work, and other obligations that you may have. The two guys that are working on the site have decided to devote a couple of hours each night to completing the website. This of course is a little difficult because they are still learning basic HTML.

I’ve also found it difficult to teach things like good sales letters, persuasive headlines, and the basics of how a site should look.  These are things that come with time and experience.  So I set them off to look at several different website examples.  You should look at how other marketers are creating their websites.  Chances are you will begin to notice commonalities. Some things can’t be taught but are learned more by experience.  I say get out there and put your mind to work on creating your website.

The Other Things
So… while I was trying to work with these two entrepreneurs this week I got the thought of just purchasing the website.  I’m not talking a PLR website but one that has already been created and is beginning to generate an income.  These are available and they are abundant.  But you HAVE to know where to look and what to look for.

One great website to look at is They are, in a sense, the ebay of websites and domains. While I was browsing Flippa I decided to take a look at their blog.  I ran across an article by my good friend… Ryan Moran.  Come to find out Ryan is an exclusive content provider for Flippa.  Which means he is basically the authority on buying and selling websites online.

I’m trying to co-ordinate with Ryan right now to do a webinar on buying and selling websites online.  This will be an amazing opportunity for anyone that wants to skip some steps in website creation.

Ryan also has a model for buying websites online and selling them offline for 2 years of their total value.  Maybe, if I can get him to do a webinar for us, he will give us some tips for selling sites offline.

Anyways, we’ll continue creating this website and I hope that by Tuesday I can move on the the next step. In the mean time… Don’t forget to sign up below :)
