A fresh start to a new year!

One of the hardest parts about blogging (if you don’t already know) is coming up with content to write about. It has been about 3 years since I was consistently blogging. My last good post was about Mobile Marketing. It’s hard to blog about good stuff when you don’t want to give away all your secrets… and it’s even harder to blog in general when you have so much stuff going on. Blogging takes time. More time then most people would think. You have to brainstorm a topic, research about the topic you want to write about, then you have to take the time to write it all up.

I’ve been asked quite a bit on Facebook and in email what I have been up too these last couple of years… And so below is a brief outline of what’s been going on marketing wise.

———————————
1. I started XRev Media, LLC and sold the company 2 years later. XRev was voted into the top 20 networks for MThink.com for 2013. I’m hoping it can make that list again for 2014. While I do not own the network anymore, I continue to work with the new owner and the existing affiliate managers to grow the network. The network has had continual growth since day 1 and it is really exciting to see where it has come and where it is going.

2. My passion is and always will be profit funnels. I took some time over the last 2 years to do some private consulting for several companies. These were long term consultation contracts and so I was able to see and help the companies grow because of the efforts I put in. One company went from $3MM when I came on board to $7MM the first year I was with them and $25MM in my second year with them. I’ve done everything from landing page optimization to fulfillment center optimization. I am a firm believer in backend profits and maximizing the amount of money you can make from streamlining all funnels and processes.

Another company I consulted for owned their own diet product. I was able to help them optimize their whole entire sales process to be able to generate between $12-$28 per first page prospect signup (depending on the traffic source). This allowed them to pay $6-$8 per optin and generate massive amounts of income by paying per lead instead of per sale. Their focus went from finding ways to make money with existing customers to finding as much traffic for their site as possible. We were even able to pay certain mailers on a cost per click (cpc).

3. Website creation is where I started my online career back in high-school. The last three years were definitely not void of creating websites for people. It’s always an easy project that can net close to $300/hour when all is said and done and so I often take on small website builds for people looking to begin an online store or just to showcase their company to the world. It’s an easy project that can be outsourced if I don’t have time to upload a few files myself or when I’m bored and want a break I can install the backbone of the project myself.

4. Software creation has and always will be a great niche to get into because it is about providing a product that you would utilize but also a product that other people could take advantage of. You should always license that software out to other people so that they can benefit from it and so you can make yourself a little extra cash on the side. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars for my own personal programs to be created and so last year I started to license those programs out to other companies to use as well. XRev Media has their own Affiliate Manager, Network Organization and Finance tracking system apart from Cake Marketing and I have spent some time with a couple colleagues to develop our own affiliate tracking program for our personal mobile and Facebook campaigns. Both of these products are being licensed to individuals and companies to help us re-coupe some of the costs that went into their development.

5. The last thing that I have done and am still developing, is a non-profit organization. The non-profit has been up for about 6 months as of this writing and has generated a bit of donations from organic traffic. I hope to be able to recruit a team of volunteers in the coming months to be able to help generate more donations. The purpose of the non-profit is to assist veterans who have been wounded in combat. The goal is to be able to remodel homes for disabled veterans so that they can more easily maneuver their house. We can install wheelchair ramps, widen doors and hallways, as well as perform any remodel that will be beneficial to the veteran and their family.
———————————

That’s the quick and dirty of what I’ve been up too. I plan on getting more posts up and becoming more involved in the Internet Marketing community again. I’ve been a little out of it with all the stuff going on but I definitely want to get back to being an active participant.

What have you been up to the last couple of years? Leave a comment below and let me know!

FTC Publishes Final Guides Governing Endorsements & Testimonials

Posted today on the FTC website:
http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm

If you know anything about the Acai Berry or the Google Bizops going around then you will know that most of the landing pages that affiliates are creating have several testimonials included.  Here are some exerpts from the new amendment to these rules.  These were last updated in 1980!

Under the revised Guides, advertisements that feature a consumer and convey his or her experience with a product or service as typical when that is not the case will be required to clearly disclose the results that consumers can generally expect. In contrast to the 1980 version of the Guides – which allowed advertisers to describe unusual results in a testimonial as long as they included a disclaimer such as “results not typical” – the revised Guides no longer contain this safe harbor.

Also this:

both advertisers and endorsers may be liable for false or unsubstantiated claims made in an endorsement – or for failure to disclose material connections between the advertiser and endorsers.

Do we have to state that we get a commission per sale of a product?  This can be very interesting.  Will we now hear Oprah say “Acai Berry X paid me $1 Million to tell you their product ROCKS!” ???

Just a little update on EVERYTHING

Hey everyone. I just wanted to give a little update on what is going on in the Cashtactics world.

———————————————-

First off we have our second Meetup202 going on tomorrow at 11:00 am.  If you are in the DFW area and want to join us for a little networking then please feel free to stop by.  Here is the link to the meetup.com group so you can find out where we are eating, what we are doing, and who else is going! >>CLICK HERE<<

———————————————-

Cashtactics.net t-shirts have been made and sent off to the printers.  This has actually been in the process for a long time now and I just need to get to the phone and call them with the sizes that I need. The shirt was originally designed a few months back and due to some busy schedule I have had I just never got it to a printer.  Well the design is now at the printer and just needs a phone call from me to say DO IT. I changed the design colors so I could drop this on a black shirt.  I’ve played around with a few colors and this looks the best.  A white shirt looks good to but just reminds me of a plain old “T”. Here is a pic of the shirt for those of you who haven’t seen this yet.

ctshirts

BAM… I know… it’s sexy don’t lie.

———————————————-

Okay moving on. Wednesdays we are going to continue the live uStream cast.  It was pretty fun jumping on a cam and talking with other bloggers and readers of Cashtactics.  We really didn’t talk about anything good we just kinda messed around and chatted about nothing.  When I jump on this week I do want to spend some time talking about some stuff.  And every week I’ll try and talk about a few things I find are important and give some tips. Then when its done we’ll just hang out and chat about nothing at all.  We had some fun people jump on even some well known people in the marketing industry.  Jump on Wednesday at 6:30 PM (Central) to see who we have partying with us! I’ll post updates on my twitter account throughout the day to count down to the live cast.

———————————————-

The MarketLeverage contest is almost over.  I’m not going to give a full break down like I did a couple weeks ago.  The only person right now that is going to win a prize is CD7964. Kinda makes me laugh this guy is almost guarenteed to win 1st prize…a Dell 24? Flat Panel LCD Monitor. I’m not going to praise him as the winner yet as there are a couple people in close second/third.  Two people that don’t win anything from MarketLeverage will be given $50 from Cashtactics.  If you want to know more about the contest then… >>Click Here<<

———————————————-

The PPC Mentoring that we release 3 months ago seems to be going pretty well.  Several success stories have emerged from people that just got started to people that have been trying to make money online for several months.  The key to our mentoring program is the people inside.  They are helping eachother to success and Andrew and I are there to guide them as well.  This has become a great community with people sharing their campaigns so that we can break them down for you.

If you would like to join in the PPC mentoring then… >>Click Here<< For those individuals that don’t want to join the PPC mentoring but want to learn more about Internet Marketing or want to learn some tricks of the trade that don’t make it to the blog then jump on in to the membership forum and get reading! The members forum is your opportunity to chat with other Marketers and Affiliates.  If you have questions and I can’t get to it then jump into the forum and see what others have to say.  Don’t worry… You won’t get hazed in there. If you want to join the forum or check it out then… >>Click Here<<

———————————————-

That’s all of the news that I can think of right now.  I’m sure their is more but I’m busy busy busy and can’t remember anything else.  Oh hey… I’ve had a few people ask me when Andrew is going to post a PPC suicide post.  I don’t know the answer so stop asking LOL.  He has been visiting his parents and should be back in a couple of days.

OH another thing… recently I have been getting a lot of comments in the blog from what appears to be spam but they are legitimate responses.  The problem I’m having is they are definitely attempts to get some SEO links to sites.  If I see these I will do 1 of 2 things.  1.  I’ll erase the URL in your comment or 2. I’ll delete your comment if you make a bunch in 2 minutes.  Posting things like that is like shitting on my blog… You don’t see me going over to your place and taking a dump on your front porch.  GTFO.

That’s all I can think of right now. :)

CS1.1 – Pay Per Click Case Study Part 1

1. Affiliate Networks:

Convert2Media

Market Leverage

Hydra

2 & 3. Competition Research and Offer Selection:

Google Trends

Google Keywords Tool

Associated Content

Ezinearticles

If you have more questions about this video and the topics covered, please sign up to the forum and post a question in the ‘Case Studies’ area in the appropriate section – Visit Forum Here

Our sole purpose is to help each of you understand how to build a profitable PPC or other method of an internet business. It takes alot of our time and efforts to publish any content on this blog. I read a comment in one of my earlier posts, where someone suggested that I start a blog of my own. To be honest, I’m not sure if I want to. It’s not an easy thing to keep up and there is very little monetary return. It is proven that my business will grow faster and better by not blogging at all. Then why am I blogging on CashTactics? Because, blogs where my main source of information at one point in time. So I want to give back and do what I can to help. If you plan to join any networks or products that we recommend, we would greatly appreciate it if you joined through us. It helps us cover the expenses of the blog and forum, which isn’t cheap.

We do plan to produce more case studies and perhaps on a regular basis. By the way, if you want to kick start your marketing budget, sign up for the CashTactics RSS feed, you’ll be in for a big suprise! Don’t wait too late.

UPDATE:
So I obviously didn’t say the word ‘Acai’ just right. So I Googled it and provided a link so that we can all learn to say it properly :) Hear the word pronounced. Read the pronunciation.

If you’d like a full screen high quality version, visit the link just below the video.

Blog Monetization Strategies From Blogging Fingers

Blog Monetization StrategiesA quick word on Matt from Blogging Fingers. He has just released a Blog Monetization Strategies E-Book. Normally you wont see me pimping ebooks but the book is free, Matt seems like a cool guy and if you get a little dead time after production hours it should be a good, quick read. I dont get anything from this post other than the privilege of letting you know about the information he is giving away.

There is a contest surrounding this book and you will need to optin to get it. FruitfulTime has sponsored the book and is allowing Matt to give away 10 free copies of the software totaling $300. That’s actually a contest I like. I dont own the software but if any reader from this blog happens to win a copy of it, I would be more than willing to post a review if you felt like writing one. I would be happy to link to you or work something out so that your time spent writing the review is worth it.

FruitfulTime TaskManager helps you manage your ‘to do list’. It has an easy to use interface and allows you to input your tasks and split them into subtasks. You can keep notes related to the tasks, contacts of other people working with you on a task and set reminders to make sure not to forget any deadlines.

Head over and grab a copy of the book and get yourself entered to win a free copy of the FruitfulTime Task Managing Software. Be sure to read all the details on how to get many entries to ensure you have the best possible chance of winning.

I am not involved with the contest in any way. I posted this just for the hell of it.

Why Make Money Bloggers Do Not Reveal Their Secrets

I think this really goes hand in hand on this very blog and other blogs I frequent. I see affiliates that are struggling and often disgruntled after a make money blogger goes out of their way to offer important advice, only to get hammered with 50 more questions and often times snarky, maybe even downright mean comments. In case you did not know their is a secret alliance among all of us where we do this secret handshake and then jabber on about how mean your comment was and how at the very sight of it we can tell you dont have what it takes to developing a winning attitude.

……………………………………………………….Just Joking.

There is no secret club, their is no handshake and I for one damn sure do not sit back and laugh when I get something a little offending or even mean written to me. In all actuality I always feel like I should have done more in the post. Had I been blogging here a year ago, I would not have had the same attitude. Back in my heavy spamming and blackhat days I would have most certainly provoked you thru the comments. I would have pissed you off to the point you thought you were going to burst. You know what though? That shit is lame, it makes everyone look completely stupid and damn sure does not help either or all parties reading to further businesses online.

Seeing comments like that leads me to believe that some affiliates and aspiring web entrepreneurs are still living in la la land. Put that f#cking ebook down for 5 minutes and hear me out.

First off there is no magic involved. Damn, I wish there was but their isnt. If you want to refer to at is at magic, then by all means do so but I am here to tell you that the magic is ENTIRELY consisted of work ethic, persistence and most important of all…………..testing.

A lot of the Make Money Bloggers I see out there are trying to make money with their blog. While I am not totally against this, I find it a conflict of interest when reading a make money blog that is only writing to monetize its readers. Another really big pet peeve is the ones that write about tactics or methods that they have no clue about or have not done themselves. This really pisses me off because they are only writing on speculation and not actual testing. We can consider this almost as bad as false information. The biggest of them all though is the make money bloggers who are still working a fulltime job. Granted their might be some bloggers out there that love their job but the majority of them portray online success AND still punch a time clock. *Uggh*

So Why Dont Make Money Bloggers Reveal Their Secrets?

I just covered most of it. Most of them are only blogging for dollars, or have not even performed the methods they are describing. However for the bloggers THAT are doing it big and working online fulltime I will come from a personal perspective and tell you why.

Quite simply it’s because even if I did, what good is it to you? Would you take action right away and copy me? If you did that still does not matter. Do you think if you copy me to a T you can make it a success? Even if you did make it this one thing a success, do you think you can replicate it into everything you go into? Can you replicate success and keep it going?

Even when I throw a great idea out there and or report something that is successful people will always want to know more. They have already perpetuated in their mind that I have left some inside secret out. Most of the time I do, want to know what it is? It’s called TESTING. Dont copy me and try to be successful, take the idea of what I am doing and do it better or at the very least tweak it and see what you come up with.

Bloggers who are making money online and doing it exclusively are going to repeat and repeat the basics of everything. SEO, PPC, Email Marketing, and Traffic ideas all fall into this. They know that for ANYONE to become successful at it they are going to take these basics and test them out. Thinking there is some hidden gem on the Internet is like leading the sheep to slaughter. You know your going to die (fail), you just dont know when. Keeping up with the latest news and reading what make money bloggers is good in every sense that you SHOULD take something away from the information you read, but what you do with it is totally going to rely on the education you have already got and your work ethic.  Thinking their are hidden secrets lying about and that you just have not found them yet is stupid and will keep you in the mindset of negativity until you realize that you already know and learn is only going to be successful if you try it on and test it yourself.

Add CashTactics To Your Technorati Favorites

After 4 months of sending email after email and post after post in the Technorati forums I got to reclaim my blog. It got flagged for review over 4 months ago…WOW.

Anyway I just basically setup a whole new account and cannot even delete my old because Technorati makes it impossible. I saw in my old account a few blogs I had favorited so I went ahead and added them again. If you have a blog though we can do the ole Technorati switcheroo on the favorites thing. It works in both our favors. So add CashTactics and I will love you forever.

Just leave a comment here or shoot me an email with your blog link. Make sure you’re signed up with Technorati.

BidVertiser Ads For Feeds Program

BidVertiserI got an email last night from Shahar at BidVertiser letting me know of a new unique service they have come up with. If you will remember I recently posted about you being able to get $20 in free clicks with BidVertiser to test out their Pay Per Click services at no cost.

BidVertiser has now launched their Ads For Feeds Program which gives another unique twist to monetizing your content yet again. Here’s what they have to say about it:

Since we launched BidVertiser Ads for Feeds, we have been closely listening to our publishers’ feedback and the most common request was to find a solution that will enable them to run the ads while keeping their current feed address (and FeedBurner Subscribers Count).

If you have access to all of Feedburner’s features and statistics and still want to keep your subscriber count then Bidvertiser has 3 easy solutions for you to use:

WordPress Plugin to allow you to seamlessly embed the BidVertiser Ads in your feeds. You can download the plugin from your publisher account.

Solution for FeedBurner that allows you to embed the BidVertiser Ads in your current FeedBurner address.

  • Register your ORIGINAL feed with BidVertiser (not the one you got from FeedBurner).
  • Login to your FeedBurner account.
  • Click Edit Feed Details.
  • Type your new feed address from BidVertiser under Original Feed.
  • Click Save Feed Details.

FeedBurner

Solution for Blogger/Blogspot that allows you to embed the BidVertiser Ads in the footer of each of your post feeds.

5 Simple steps to adding BidVertiser ads to your Blogger Feed in your Footer. (Blogger does allow 3rd party placement ads).

  • Login to your Blogger account.
  • Click Settings -> Site Feed.
  • Copy your BidVertiser Feed Code to the Post Feed Footer area.
  • You must also set Enable Post Pages to Yes (in Archiving settings) and set Allow Blog Feeds to Full.
  • Click Save Settings.

It’s that easy!

Add BidVertiser To Your Blogger Blog

Remember this is a Publisher’s service. You can get all these features from within your control panel under the Get Feed Widget. Also, if you haven’t tried out their Advertising Program you can still get $20 worth of free clicks here. The Publisher’s program is here.
