Hey Cashtactics.net readers! I just wanted to give you an update as to what is going on with the series. I know I haven’t written anything in a while but that’s because there really isn’t anything to write about at this point in time. But I do apologize for not keeping you in the loop sooner. I’ve been in the process for the last week or so moving into a new office building as well as moving in one of my employees and a business partner.

So here is your update to the series.

First thing I did a couple of weeks ago is I put the site together. Not just a bunch of random pages like it was before, but now the site is hooked up and working. The first page you hit is the squeeze page. We used aweber for the autoresponder. After they sign up for aweber they get pushed off to a secret tip. This secret tip should be good enough to keep them coming back for more. At the bottom of the secret tip they are presented with a link to the sales letter.

For this product we used paypal as the payment gateway. If you don’t know how to set that up you can ask in the members forum. I’ll be more than happy to jump in there and help you out. Anyways, after they purchase the product paypal will push them off to a thank you page. This thank you page should only have a little thank you message and another autoresponder form. This form will be for a different mailing list. Not the original list we had people sign up to before. This is how we separate our buyers from the rest of the group. Once they sign up they get pushed on to a page so that they can download their product.

The URL for the thank you page and the download page should be some weird combination of numbers and letters. For example your thank you page could be www.domain.com/thankyoualakajlewjc9393aj9309cj409jcojrrlkcjsli4jje.html . This will keep people from guessing the link.

Then you can use a robot.txt file to block the thank you page and the download page from being indexed into the search engines. Here is the code for blocking pages from the search engines.

# robots.txt for your site

User-agent: *
Disallow: /thankyoupage.html
Disallow: /downloadpage.html
Disallow: /orthewholefolder/

Ok if you didn’t understand that User-agent: * means every search engine spider/bot. Then you are telling them to not have access to specific pages or folders… It’s really easy. Just upload that into a regular .txt file, name it robot.txt and then upload it into the root of your website.

Okay once the site was all set up I sat down for a couple of hours and I showed the two guys how to do some basic FREE marketing. We went over yahoo answers, blog marketing, forum marketing, and youtube video ripping.

You can see we have begun to gather visitors to the site. Here are our results for optins from aweber.

So, we’ve begun to get some results. I’m sure some of those optins come from readers here. I promise… there isn’t any reason for you to sign up so please don’t if you don’t have to we would like to try and keep these numbers as close to accurate as possible.

We have yet to make a sale, but we are in there working hard to drive traffic to the site. Once we get some more data I will begin to tweak the site to make it convert better. I’ll also be installing a click map over the site. This will help me determine what actions I need to take.

That’s it for an update. I’ll get with these guys tonight and tomorrow. I’ll make sure to have something for you on Thursday!

In Part 1 of this tutorial we went over a few things on market research and understanding your demographics, that not only applies to landing pages but to your entire marketing efforts. A very important step. Glad to see there were some questions asked and many comments made. You can find the Questions & Answers from Part 1 at the end of todays post. Let us jump right in to today’s topics.

Styles of Landing Pages

1. Review Style – Shows and reviews mutliple products in the same niche.

2. Comparison Style – Similar to review style except you go more into detail on the pros and cons of each product and do a cross product comparison.

3. Single Offer Style – Focused on promoting a single offer or product.

4. Multi-Offer Style – Pitching mutliple offers such as a main offer and a complimentary offer, in an attempt to increase EPCs.

5. Testimonial Style – Usually involves a personal testimony (most of the time its a fictional story) but be careful with fake testimonials, the BBB can come and bite you on the butt.

6. Email Opt-in Style – The main purpose is to develop a list of emails that are related to a certain niche or theme for later email distributions that you will send offers to.

Key Elements of Landing Pages

There are a few very important elements to consider when designing a landing page.

1. Color Scheme – Be sure to use coloring that best fits your demographics of people. For example, if you are targeting elderly people, ages 50+ don’t use a lot of colors that blend really easy together. Instead choose more bold colors with better contrast. We all know that with age comes the deterioration of eyesight. Make your landing page easy to read and easy on the eyes for your demographics.

2. Above the Fold – For those of you who may not know what ‘above the fold’ means, it refers to the portion of your landing page that shows when a visitor first visits your landing page, without scrolling down. Be sure to consider the various screen resolutions that will be used, 800 x 600 will show differently than 1280 x 800, etc. Design with that in mind. Review the two screenshots below. These are the portions of the landing pages that show up on my 14″ Dell laptop with a 1280 x 800 resolution.

Acai Berry Detox – Convert2Media

AcaiPure – Convert2Media

Want to know the 2 big factors as to why these two offers are the absolute best Acai offers to run and the reason they out perform all other similar offers? Reason 1: They both list easy to read benefits with a strong call-to-action arrow pointing (this is important) to the free trial sign-up box. Reason 2: They don’t list how much shipping and handling charges are on the front page, so more people sign up and don’t completely realize they have to pay a couple bucks for shipping until page #2 or #3. That’s a little tricker method to achieve leads but those two reasons are huge factors as to why those offers are HOT! Check out the MONSTER payouts on Convert2Media.

3. Qualifying / Attention Grabbing Statement – If you noticed, both of the offers above are using the statement, “Flush pounds from your system with the power of Acai!” That is a pretty solid attention grabber. You want to qualify the visitor and at the same time keep their attention. Here is why, the purpose of qualifying the visitor is to ensure that they indeed are taken to a page that relates to what your Ad copy suggested. That way they find what they are looking for and don’t just click the back button immediately or close out. Why you want to keep their attention is pretty obvious, you want them to read the rest of your ’sales pitch’. And yes, your landing page is a sales pitch of sorts in whatever fashion you are using it in. You want to encourage them to continue reading and take action with a belief of trust and confidence with your offer.

4. Call-to-Action – Don’t overlook this, one thing I learned when working for Dell computers, always ask for the ’sale’ (lead or sale in this case). Provide quality and accurate information and then don’t be afraid to ask for the sale, ask them to sign up, ask them to try it out, tell them how much they will benefit from it. The point is you basically want to TELL THEM WHAT TO DO! Customers/visitors are usually influenced by the recommendations you make based upon the ‘trust’ factor you’ve built with them and what YOUR opinion is. So if you have a review style page listing 3 different offers and you title offer #1 as “Voted #1″ or “Top Ratings”, etc. Chances are, more people will choose that offer just because you recommended it. And have a call to action more than just once. You might have a main call to action like the Acai offers above use the arrows and point to the sign up box. You want to hyperlink text within your pre-sell content, ALL of your images should link to the offer and then you still want 2-3 main call-to-action places (depending upon the type of offer).

5. Professional or Realistic Design – Without a doubt you want a professional or realistic design. It can’t look like my grandmother built the landing page. And believe me, my grandmother probably has more landing page design abilities than alot of you. Some of these landing pages floating around are just horrible. Doesn’t have to be professional as in Gucci catalog website. But make it believable. Simple. Clean. No clutter. Only the information you want the visitor to know about. Good LP Design and Bad LP Design . Notice the difference? See the simpleness of both but the difference of functionality and the less confusion the Good LP has over the Bad LP? There is a clear decision to be made and you are pointed to what needs to be done in the Good LP, were as the Bad LP, its just their main website and tons of other links that you can click on. So without a doubt they get less leads for their business.

6. Content and Pre-Selling – I kinda hit some tips when it comes to pre-selling but copywriting and LP content is a whole tutorial on its own. It boils down to this: list the most important benefits or advantages, have accurate information, show facts, studies, reports, statistics, true testimonials, videos, pictures and call to actions. Thats a brief overview of what you need. I can’t write the content for you word for word. Once you find a LP design that works, you want to continually test your LP copy, starting with the attention grabbing statement. Just look at each of the items above and consider them when doing your copywriting.

I can’t hold your hand and guide you through step-by-step when designing your landing pages. Basically it comes down to you either, learning how to use Photoshop CS and Dreamweaver (or Fireworks, Frontpage, Expressions Web, etc) so you can design your own landing pages to gain experience or secondly, you search for a LP designer until you find a good one. The best place I know of to learn how and to get familiar with Photoshop and the rest is at Lynda.com. Its not free but its by far the fastest route to learning those programs. Also, there are a ton of photoshop tutorials online that are completely free. That show you step by step what to do and how to create specific things, just Google them. Don’t complain about having to challenge yourself. Affiliate marketing is nothing compared to going to school to be a doctor or lawyer, and it even has equal to or better compensation opportunities. To hire an LP designer, just look on places like Elance, GetAFreelancer, ODesk, 99Designs, etc. Its costly though. Best to get an understanding of how to use those programs yourself and as you grow, start outsourcing or hire a full time designer.

Questions & Answers

Allen

a) So say you were trying to target this demographic and offer in Facebook… how would you focus in on race such as African-American? The female part would be easy but I’m very curious to know if it’s possible to do so for race.

b) In the landing page series, can you tackle the issue of fake blog-style landers… if/where do you think affiliates should draw the lines in terms of deceptive testimonial/results, comments, etc.

A. As I’m not too experienced on facebook marketing, I asked my friend Neil from NeilsWeb.com this question. He said there isn’t a way to specifically target groups by race but you can target groups of people according to their interests. For example, if you are using keyword targeting on facebook, targeting keywords that you know the african american population would have a strong interest in would be a way to capture a portion of that type of traffic. Using words like “Lil Wayne”, etc.

B. To tackle the the fake blog style landing pages is something more of a personal moral conviction. To say I’ve never done it would be lying. However, I do not support or promote that method of landing pages publicly and there can be severe consequences to those who in the past/present/future use those style of landing pages. I think each affiliate should try their best to provide truthful, adequate testimonials, comments and statistics.

TipJar

I haven’t got a clue on how to create one. I’m decent at graphic design so I tried creating one in Photoshop, slicing it, and then coding it in Dreamweaver. But I realized I had no clue what I was doing (especially when trying to add text with divs and css). I could outsource this task, but I don’t have the money, and would like to be able to create my campaign from the ground up (demographic-keywords-landing page). Once I know what I am doing I can always outsource it later.

Not to mention the fact that I’m not sure how to do DKI (dynamic keyword insertion), split testing, or PHP. Do you have any recommendations as to where I could learn how to design these myself?

Refer to my suggestions about Lynda.com, that is going to be one of the best ways to learn how to better design landing pages. You just need to better understand how DIVs, CSS and the other coding aspects work. Join a few design/graphic forums and you will learn alot. Also, don’t forget to Google the questions you have and you will be amazed to find how many different tutorial there are out there. Then over a little bit of time you have gained all of the skills necessary.

As far as DKI, split testing and PHP. Those are things that you will learn more about in the future, once you completely understand the basics. In the near future I will cover DKI and Split Testing.

I is Celebrities

Hey Andrew, love your case study series. A quick question, do you test the offer first before building a landing page, or do you already know for sure that it’s a good offer without first testing it? Thanks

Most of the time the offers that I chose to run, I start with landing pages. I rarely do direct linking because its not a solid business model. I don’t build out the website until I see that it converts well enough to make profitable. But I almost always use a landing page.

Thomas

That’s a great article. Even though Facebook has great targeting options I always had a really low CTR. I guess you almost have to have multiple offers/ads going on the network to make it really worthwhile.

I had a question though. When creating landing pages/sites for offers how much time do you initially spend on any one offer? With more content I know you have a better QS but if it takes you 2-3 days it’s hard to test multiple offers at the same time. Any ideas? Thanks Tom

With facebook, if you are running one offer, you want to test a bunch of ads and really narrow groups of demographics. Find the best version of your ad and focus exclusively on the best demographic with the best ad. For a better reference, again refer to this video interview of my friend Neil, Video Interview.

Not sure if I totally understand your question, however, to answer it to the best of my interpretation. It typically takes me 1 day to prep an offer for lauching and I launch it on day 2. That is for a test. If you are new, I would focus on testing one offer at a time. And if you want a shortcut start with Yahoo as their quality score requirements are much much easier than Google.

Joe Schleswig-Holstein

Very good post, I ll come back to your blog. Thank you also, i just discovered quantcast, whichis a very good tool!
I wish you showed a concrete example how you reach your audience, after having done such a research on that target audience.

I do not understand what your question is about the audience? If you can explain in more detail I will try to answer it.

That will be all for tonight. I will continue this series later this week.

Moolah, Scrill, Dinero, Bling Bling, Cash, Green Backs, Paper, Cabbage Dough, Bread… You get my point. MONEY… The easiest way I have ever made money in my life is by answering people’s questions. I’m not talking answering questions on forums like in the last post… I’m talking answering questions from … question asking websites.

By now, as an Internet Marketer, you should know about Yahoo Answers. If you don’t know about them… It’s a website where people ask you for your affiliate link so that they can make you rich. HAHA Just kidding. But it might as well be. Websites, where people ask a questions on advice or where to find something, are asking to be spammed.

I’m not saying that blatantly spamming is good. But I am saying that you can go into questions and answer type of websites, appear as a guru, and give people your website to visit.

When I first started marketing online I was looking for some quick and easy cash. I stumbled onto Yahoo Answers not really knowing what it was about. I started to browse through questions and I found the section called … “Careers & Employment”. Reading through the questions I got the bright idea to send people through my affiliate link. After trying this all day I quickly realized that I was getting banned after only 3 posts. In the first 2 days I must have created 30+ accounts. All banned within minutes of being on the site.

I couldn’t figure it out… then I realized I needed to send people to a site that didn’t look like spam. So I logged into my Gmail account at the time and created one of their free pages. I added about 10 links to ClickBank products and headed back into Yahoo. This time I was able to go for about 10 posts before I was banned.

While I was still pretty excited about this I wasn’t satisfied. So, I began to become a “real” person. I took on the persona of a girl named Katy. A 27 year old college student that takes surveys from her dorm room for extra spending money. People in Yahoo Answers will literally ask the question “Where can I go for a job to help me work from home?” HAHAHA EASY MONEY BABY!

“Oh Hi, I’m Katy. I had this same problem when I started college. First of all… my boyfriend didn’t like me gone all the time working, and second of all I had to have a flexible schedule for my school work. Anyways… To make a long story short I was searching around online and found this website _____________________. Its basically a list of survey sites that you can use to make a little extra spending money. I’m making about $550 every two weeks. It isn’t the best money. But it works for what I need.

Best of Luck… I hope you find something that works for you. keep us updated!

Katy”

BWAHAHAHAHA Now you may think that taking on a persona like this is bad… However, this is marketing. The Rich Jerk really isn’t a Rich Jerk… “He” in fact is a group of marketers. They have created a persona that people either love or hate. This is what you essentially have to do. Become someone else to market to another crowd.

My first two weeks of marketing online I made $700. All from answering questions on Yahoo Answers. Ruck has a few post about it in this blog. They can be found by clicking here. He also has a nice little report in the Free Ruck Reports section of the blog. Check it out.

Here is also a list of other websites that can be used for answering people’s questions for… MOOLAH

http://www.answerbag.com/

http://www.funadvice.com/

http://answers.yahoo.com/

What other Question and Answer websites do you know of?

Free traffic is great. When I get free traffic to my CPA offers I love it. In fact… I love it so much that I dedicate a good portion of my marketing to generating free traffic. I’m not talking about the SEO type of free traffic… I’m talking about the forum posting, yahoo question answering, YouTube video ripping type of traffic. Some people may look at this as a non-business tactics… But making money online is all about how much you can profit for the amount of money you put in.

Those three tactics I mentioned can help you take your online business to a whole new level. I often ponder hiring a full time poster, answerer, and ripper. I know that if I did then they would at least pay for their position if not more.

So… I’m going to start going off on a tangent over this next week on generating free traffic to your CPA offers. This is in answer to the many questions I have received on alternatives to PPC.
———————————
The most important thing that you can do when your building your free traffic is to come off as a professional. People need to trust you. They need to feel as if they can come to you for anything. Build your “brand” to say. When you are marketing to a forum you can’t just go in and start shooting your link to people. We all know what would happen if we did.

Don’t start out asking questions either. You need to go in right away and be the authority. If I was marketing to the dating niche, I would find several forums full of people looking for love. Then I would begin to answer their questions and interact with them on a more personal level. When I say don’t ask questions, I don’t mean not to ask personal questions to the members. Asking people individual questions via the personal message feature is an essential thing that you must do. You can also ask them personal questions in the actual threads. You’ll know the perfect time to do this when you see the opportunity. This will place them on your side when you start recommending products in the future. Don’t EVER ask them for advice though. Say something to them like “Hey I noticed your from _______ I have a cousin that lives there. Is it as boring as she says?”. Get personal and they will LOVE you.

Once you have a few dozen posts under your belt feel free to add your signature. I never add it right away. Some people will know right off the bat that you are a marketer and you will get called out. I like to have 50 posts under my name before I begin to even come close to marketing. For a lot of us this method might take a little too long for our liking. But I promise you that people will appreciate your “wisdom” and when they do… they will eat up anything you say… Even if you tell them “YOU MUST JOIN THIS DATING SITE!”. And shoot them a link

This tactic takes time. But once we build trust in these forums, we can begin to market to them for a long period of time.

Oh here’s another thing. When you do get to the point that you are to market to them. Don’t send them directly to the affiliate link. Make sure you send them to an actual URL. And if your thinking right… It will either be a URL with the rotator on it… or a poll.

Next post I’ll go into my tactics for yahoo answers.

Yesterday we talked about intial keyword research using the Google Content network to promote an Email Submit offer. Now from the abundance of questions and comments, I thought I would answer them in one spot.

First off I am not teaching Adwords or HOW to do PPC here. If you want to learn Adwords then you really need to go to the Adwords Learning Center. There are just way too many variables in using PPC Advertising to go over and even then, they change almost daily. So if you dont know PPC I would probably suggest leaving this alone until you get some basic knowledge. Dont worry though, this will all be here when you get done and any question will not go unanswered. We are mainly focusing on CPA Marketing using PPC at this moment.

I can tell that the domain bidding was new to some people. I understand that so let me clear a few things up. Your BIDDING on domain variations in a KEYWORD targeted campaign. This means that www.whatever.comand every variation of it is a keyword that belongs in its own adgroup. Now every domain you do should go into its OWN adgroup for a tightly themed group.

You said by targeting domain keywords like http://www.abc.comww abc com, etc that you will get low cpc clicks. Why are we able to buy these clicks for so low?

Because there are just less advertisers USUALLY. It’s that simple.

To begin with, why are you using domain targeted keywords on the content network?

Read above. I know how people use search engines. I know that a good chunk of them dont type addresses into their address bar. They use the search engines. I also know their tends to be less competition which means I am most likely to pay less CPC.

So are people actually making websites that contain domain targeted words like “ww scholarships com”?

That’s simple. Why not copy and paste that into Google and see if 0 sites show up in the results? It’s not really about people making sites that are optimized for the domain keywords. It’s about your level of understanding on how Google scans pages and matches them to content sites.

I always thought you were bidding on placement, but then again I always specified the URL’s of the sites that I wanted to show my ads on.

This has nothing to do with placement targeting. That is an entire beast altogether. This is a keyword targeted campaign.

you mentioned that Geo-Targeting to a specific country on Google can’t be trusted but how come Geo-Targeting to specific states can?

Good point and I dont think ANY of it can be 100% trusted. Although selected states manually has cut my shitty clicks down by at least 80-90% each time. Sometimes I dont get any foreign clicks at all. But I have had campaigns where I swore I was advertising in more countries than just the selected US.

So, am I understanding correctly that all ‘domain variation keywords’ belong in their own AdGroup? And what about misspellings? Do you bother with those? Do they belong in their own AdGroup?

Each domain would have variations making an adgroup for each domain having about a dozen to two dozen keywords. No I dont bother with mispellings YET. This is just the testing phase. I am only looking at some clicks from keyword and url targets. Should I go further on then yes I will probably get deeper in the keywords.

You say it’s a good idea to check out Yahoo Groups or Answers. Can you explain what to look for and what to do with an example of the information that you find?

Any market research is better than none. An example of the information you would find would be what important questions are grant searchers look for? How much do college students typically want in a scholarship? Anything that you can learn about your target market is better than not knowing anything about them at all. Your going to know why by the end of the series.

Also if you make a title tag is that above the frame code you gave? Finally, for destination/display url do you have to put in the merchant url in distinction from your own domain?

Yep. Title and any meta and anything else you want can be above or below the frame. No, you just put destination and display url as your own. The iframe is basically you hosting/mirroring the merchant page on your own domain.

Are you choosing the offer first and then going to Yahoo Groups? Or are you going to groups first and check the volume of people in certain groups and then finding the ad to go with it?

If you are choosing an offer first, how do you know which offer will convert?

Honestly I dont even go check out a target market USUALLY. I usually launch 3-5 offers on a given day. The fact that a lot of people have no idea on how to properly evaluate whether there will be a market or not for the offer is why I advised finding out for yourself. I been doing CPA for two years now. It’s pretty much secondhand. You dont know which one will convert, that’s the point of launching it as cheap as you can on PPC.

When you start out in researching keywords you should have taken some time to get in a mindset of a college or future college student. Did you go to some Yahoo Groups or Yahoo Answers and check out anything people were asking about college scholarships? If so then your on the right track, if you skipped that step because you think your a badass then more power to you. You will soon realize why I think it’s important to take a little time and look at the landing page and see what others are saying about the topic.

First off you dont go firing up your keyword tool. This is a mistake. It’s been said over and over and you’ve probably seen me say it more times than you care to see that roughly 40% of the online searches are unique. If your using a keyword tool starting out then chances are your going to skip what I am going to talk about next. It’s imperative to develop a process so you dont miss out on keywords and ultimately traffic. Is this the right way to do it? Who knows but I can tell you personally after two years of testing, losing money, tweaking, profiting, scaling, test more that this system works pretty damn well for me. Granted you look at keywords and research the way I do we can all communicate effectively a lot better when things dont go our way.

First off Google Content Network

I like to strategize for the Google Content Network FIRST. Before we get into that let me tell you why. I’ve been asked many times why and how I am able to test offers by direct linking and now you know. While I do start off on the content network, I am only starting there as a RESEARCH point. I realize even with targeted adgroups and ads I can still get some shitty traffic. That’s ok though because Ruckles has a few filtering methods he likes to use to weed a bunch of that junk out from the start.

Now it’s come to the world’s attention over the last week that Yahoo allows direct linking. And cool, I was going to search my archives to link to it but I simply thru that into Google and whadda ya know, CT is #9. Anyway that should be a cool point of interest to many and I think after this series when I start direct linking on Yahoo, I will give some case studies.

For now I will stick to Google Content because this is what I have been doing and I hate to break a good routine. Now if it goes downhill on me this does not mean necessarily that the offer is a dud. However my personal preference is that if I cannot get conversions using the following tactics on the Content Network then I usually do not even work any harder on the offer. I’m using the content network as a general guide for profitability. I am also direct linking so I realize that I am not pre-selling the offer at all. These things have to be taken under consideration because each offer is different as are the demographics your promoting it to.

Keywords

Now that you took some time to look at the offer you should have come up with some general words in your head about the offer. You can always view the source code for each offer and you might come away with some ideas but generally these offers are not optimized that well and generally are hardly any help. You have to rely on your own research ability which I’ve stated is vital. So let’s look at the offer I chose at $1.75 payout and see what comes to my mind:

Right off the bat I think of:

college scholarship

free college scholarship

pay for college ( with how to pay for college) (help pay for college) (grants to pay for college)

college scholarship money

college financial aid

These are just terms that I come up with by looking at the offer. Now I have some initial keywords to throw into the Google Adwords Keyword External Tool. As an example I threw in pay for college and Google returned me 81 results which they thought relevant to the query. I dont necessarily want to add all them. I want to weed out potential words that I “think” wont help me. So here are a few I came up with:

best way to pay for college
cant pay for college
grants to pay for college
help me pay for college
help pay for college
help to pay for college
how to pay for college
loans to pay for college
money to pay for college
pay for college
pay for college books
pay for college now
way to pay for college
ways to pay for college

Now I want to diversify and split these into relevant adgroups. I dont just throw them into the content network (unless I want to burn money). Typically I look at the first words of the longtails:

way/ways, help, money, pay, how

These little words tell me a lot. These words are going to help me construct adgroups and write kickass ads to the demographics. Longtails work just as the short words do. Each one is different and you should research, test and build around so. So now that I have 5 words that I can build adgroups around I want to generate a keyword list to test with. I plug in ‘ways to pay for college’ into the Adwords External Tool again.

Now I come with this:

alternative ways to pay for college
best way to pay for college
best ways to pay for college
creative ways to pay for college
different ways to pay for college
the best way to pay for college
unique ways to pay for college
way to pay for college
ways to pay for college
what is the best way to pay for college

This gives me a very targeted adgroup and also gives me an idea of how to write my ads. Now as I said there are ways to weed junk out of the Content network so I am going to tell you how to do that. After you build your first adgroup you need to go back to your general targeting in Adwords. We are obviously only after US traffic but you cannot just pick US as your general targeting. God this is a HUGE MISTAKE! Adwords is not perfect people and more so on a Content Network campaign. I cant begin to express how many disqualified clicks I have seen in my logs because Adwords does there damn GEO Targeting. You have to take it upon yourself to go back and choose Region/Cities and select each state individually. I’m not telling you this to bullshit you, test both ways for yourself and tell me I am wrong. Another thing you must do is tell the qualifying prospects EXACTLY what you want them to do. Generally I make an ad that tells them this, but I make a second that will get the clicks and I watch them both. Example for this offer and adgroup would be like this:

See in the first ad I have told them and they expect to fill in their email. This will help disqualify a lot of crappy clicks. Most likely this is where your best offer conversions come from but not always. The second ad is a bit more generic because I dont have the word “scholarship” in there. Some people will think its just basically to win money but hopefully by adding the word “college” twice in there it would perform well also. Just try two different ads and watch them like hawks.

Now you got some tips to make the content network work in your favor. Choose the US States individually is a huge tip. Telling the prospects exactly what you want will lower your clicks but they will be more targeted. I cant tell you how many people make the mistake of going for unqualified clicks just to get them. With Adwords charging as much as they are, this is ridiculous if your on a budget. Yes you want clicks, but you want clicks on ads that CONVERT.

That was just an example of one adgroup. This will be repeated over every keyword adgroup you have. Even on the content network this is what you should be striving for. Now on the content network we do have some lee-way because of the mythical “no QS’. I still dont believe that all the way but for such an offer we will glide by typically just to test it.

Now I do need a domain and hosting to actually “direct link” to my offer. However I am not actually direct linking (unless you can get away with it on Content). I actually use an iframe and it’s very simple:

<frameset rows=”100%,*” border=”0″>
<frame src=”AFFILIATE LINK GOES HERE” frameborder=”0″ />
<frame frameborder=”0″ noresize />
</frameset>

Basically it’s just a frameset to display the actual offer on my own webhost. Some offers dont allow this but a lot do. You will have to make sure and test that it does not break out of the frame. You will know it if it does. It will be jarbled or it will go directly to the offer page. You may want to make a Title tag along with a meta description and keywords. Generally for the content network we can get away with that. I have been for quite awhile now.

You can typically load this onto your domain in a index.html file. So then your domain would just be this iframed offer. Normally I buy a domain for the INDUSTRY the offer is related to and load an index.html file with my iframe in it, then I throw this index.html into a folder and load it up as a directory on my domain. This helps to let me know what offers I am running simultaneously. My output would be something like www.whatever.com/College

Make sure to get short domains so that with the / and folder name it will fit into the Adwords Display Url limit.

Domains

The unsung hero’s of converting keywords. This method is widely under used although a big name Marketer (Gauher Chaudhry) of PayPerClickFormula has coined it “The Alexa Method”. Basically just go to Google and type in a keyword. For this offer I type in “college scholarship”. I see that www.college-scholarships.com is #2. The idea here is to first go to Google, Yahoo and MSN and gather all the domains on the first page (or second for competitive niches) and take EVERY variation of that domain you can think of. So here’s what comes to me:

www.college-scholarships.com
www college scholarships com
http://www.college-scholarships.com
college-scholarships.com
college scholarships com
http://college-scholarships.com
ww.college-scholarships.com
ww college-scholarships.com
http www college-scholarships com

That is really generic to me, if I wanted to get really technical then I could probably come up with 2 dozen domain variations. Since I doubt this site is that popular I wont. Yes, people actually type the address into the search engines and not the address bars. When they do this, what pops up into the search results? Yep, lots of sites with Adsense probably. You need to realize this and take in it’s effectiveness. I’ve spent hours researching browsing habits online and domain targeting for keyword campaigns can bring you some of the best low cost profits. Another thing is that targeting these in the Content Network may not bring you a ton of impressions. However the clicks will be cheap. I still use domains in my Content Network campaigns and you should too. When we get to search I will go into more detail.

You should know that if you target EVERY keyword in your adgroup, your going to have TONS of domains. Like I said we are just testing right now so I try to take the most popular keyword from each adgroup and gobble the domains up from the first page of the big 3 search engines.

There’s more though:

Your targeting search query urls so you should also target high volume RELATED sites as well. For this I go to Alexa. Now here’s where we can “do some damage”. I type in “college scholarships” and it returns me some results for sites with considerable traffic levels. Even if they dont have high volume you still want to target them. I got a site with an Alexa of almost 200K and yet it yielded over $180,000 in pure profit from last year. Alexa is a great tool but it can also deceive you. If you dont already have those domains from Alexa then gobble them up and make variations as well.

Now in Alexa I see that Scholarships.com has a traffic rank of 66,751. This is not bad. It tells us that it’s getting about half as much traffic as Cashtactics is so it’s definitely something we should target. So we click on it to view more details about the site. On the top left hand corner you will see “Explore this site” and right under that you see “Related Links”.

You definitely want to click and check those out. I did so and seen 4-5 more sites I could potentially make domain and variation keywords for. You want those to test as well.

Like I have said that this is just the testing phase. This is a really quick way to get a direct link (iframe or cloak) up on the content network to see if this offer will make any money.

Things to remember

You are in the testing phase for the offer. Your primary goal is to get some cheaper clicks on the Google Content Network and use a few ideas to make your offer get some better targeted traffic by manually adding all 50 US states and telling people what to expect in your ad. We have not even begun pure keyword domination yet. Keywords are going to take a few things to get thru and there will be some vids coming of watching me actually perform what I am saying. Some people like text and others prefer video so we will do both.

Just know that you dont need a bazillion keywords to test out with. Your looking at the offer specifically just to see if it will make you any money while spending as little as possible. If you have a huge budget then you will probably skip some of this but we want to start at the beginning to look for areas of profitability with the least cost as possible.

Typically you want to test the network for 3 days. I like 3 days because it gives me enough data to decide where to go. Typically I set my content budget at $500/day. Now you may not want to do this but as I have stated that their is something unspoken on the content network. I have found that the higher my budget is along with my CTR then the longer my ad runs without suffering one of those famous “impression breaks”. If you set your budget below $100 a day then your not going to get numbers that you can make important decisions on unless the offer just completely converts like crazy. You should know that this is likely not to happen.

That is basic setup and testing. Your only watching impressions/clicks/conversions at this point in regards to spend. You are making tight adgroups with keywords and domain variations and your setting up all 50 states manually to ensure that Google will give you less unqualified clicks. This can and does happen people. If you watch your logs then you already know this.

In the next part we are going to assume that our offer converted enough to move forward.

I’ve never had a problem with any of these networks and have always been paid on time. Those are affiliate links but going thru them is going to ensure that you get accepted by them coming from here. :)

Now every network has a variety of offers. Dating, Ringtones, Debt, Financial, Education, Downloads, Email/Zip Submits and the list goes on and on. By being signed up for a lot of networks like this I can easily use the free services of OfferVault and/or AffSpy to quickly retrieve network payouts on any offer. This helps to ensure that I will get the best payout but I also know how each company tracks leads. Getting the highest payout just because it’s that way is not always the smartest thing to do. (More on this later).

The thing that separates CPA Marketing aside from the Retail side of Affiliate Marketing is that you have to put yourself in a variety of mindsets to promote different types of offers. If you are promoting a college education offer and your 27 years old (like me) then you have to put yourself in the mindset of the majority of people searching for information on this and then get them with an offer. I only use College Education as an example as it was a University of Phoenix offer that lured me and return myself to chasing a Degree in Accounting. Lots of role playing and mindset switches will be occurring so you need to adapt on how people are thinking when they see your offer.

Now since we will be going towards Pay Per Click a little heavier than Email Marketing and Banner/Text Placements I will share some tools with you that I use. I use PPC as a way to build lists around offers as well as relying on SEO so we will tie Email and banner into the series later.

This is very important and mainly deals with cost per sale items from CPA Networks. Going to these places will allow you to see first hand what people are looking for, talking about, and having problems with. This is vital in preselling and building your list pre-sale of a product.

This resource is nothing new, in fact it’s been used for a long time now. However not a lot people really talk about it. Well, let’s dare to be different.

Yahoo Groups is vast. It is worldwide. As a matter of fact here are the countries they cover along with the US:

There are thousands of established groups already covering nearly every topic on the planet. For all the digital information sellers this is a potential goldmine for you. This is like the biggest forum ever covering everything from questions, discussions, problems, and answers in one easy to manage place. There are niches I have never even thought about in there. Let’s look inside some of the health groups:

To effectively utilize Yahoo Groups you really need to look at groups with a large member base (obviously) as well as the amount of recent activity going on within the group. As an example I have picked out Healthy Recipes For Diabetic Friends. Now before we jump right into market analysis I want you to think about why I chose this group.

First I chose it because the headline “Healthy Recipes For Diabetic Friends” told me right off the bat that a potential niche for diabetics could be formed here. Not only are there going to be a large number of diabetics involved in the discussion here, but there are also a large number of diabetics that already have TONS of problems identified for us, and will give us the easiest of easy answers of what they are eating.

As a marketer we are looking at problems that has garnered a large niche audience (the member count tells us this) and that a lot of people are here discussing and sharing information among themselves. (This tells us that the problem is actually one worth seriously looking at).

Quite simply from the headline I knew that an information product could be developed rather quickly and this will appeal to the general reading audience of this blog. For new and advanced marketers, digital products are about the easiest products to create and get your income going.

Moving into the group I want to read the description of it inside and out. This is going to tell me what kind of people the group will attract and also a ton of other market research gems that will allow me to know whether I want to continue or not. I take a look at the message history:

Awesome, people are talking and they have been since 2005. This is a dedicated group right here! Everything is in place for me to know that this group is established and people have been openly communicating for a long time. This group has stability and I feel it (as a marketer) that I am about to have my next info product on “Food Recipes For Diabetics” already completely spawned out in front of me. I know there is an active group of people looking for this information on the Internet. They are obviously dedicated so I am thinking that the market is probably pretty good for this. If it’s not guess what? It did not cost you a dime to find out.

I am going to end this post abruptly folks. I am going to end it with just three images that I picked up from when I joined this group. It’s seriously this easy to find a niche and have everything you need to write that next book (if that’s your thing) or to hop in these groups and have something you want to promote as an affiliate. We wont go into marketing to these groups directly. That is a completely different subject and quite frankly it’s an art. If/when you get caught, you can take some pretty serious heat from the members. I know that for a fact. However with the three images below could you possibly tell me why you could NOT write the world’s most bad ass ebook over recipes and healthy food for diabetics? Apply this post as an example and know there are endless niches located there.

This can apply to almost any niche. It’s not some spectacular secret but since I dont see many people talking about it, let me introduce this concept and follow up with it on some ideas of how and where to implement it. See one of the biggest things about marketing is that most typically if you want to make serious money in a relatively short time you have to surpass all the known efforts that you have already heard and come up with something not so typical but bound to work better, faster and more efficiently. Most of the content I right on tutorials, ideas and tactics pertaining to making money are almost ALL tests. I’m testing you as the reader, opportunist, marketer to surprise me, entice me, hell DEFY me.

However almost every topic I write about I get QUESTIONS instead of SUGGESTIONS. That’s not at all bad, I just try to throw some things out there to see what other people will come up with. With that said let’s try and shift that focus towards BRAINSTORMING instead of THINKING. When you think, you tend to rely on your brain for answers thus if you cannot come up with one, you go and ask for it. However when your brainstorming you tend to find answers first then coming up with the questions pertaining to them. If you dont get that quite yet, no worries because it will come to you.

The Art Of The Bribe

Unethical? Preposterous? Aggressive? Some may consider that, yes.

Profitable? Fast? Easy? You bet your ass.

Let’s put this in perspective and pick out a niche. I feel if we do just one in particular you will be equipped better to shift that focus into other niches. Besides, we dont want to be vague here, we want to provide the exact answers on how to entice people to optin to our email lists. A step by step tutorial if you will.

First identify a product. I’ll choose the Hoodia (diet pills) program. We’ll say it’s from CPA Empire but you can probably pick it up on other networks. This one pays out $32 per lead and only requires the user to pay $5.99 shipping for a free bottle. This is a good payout and relatively simple for this type of industry. Besides, you have 60 minutes, NBC and Oprah pimping it so it makes it all the sweeter.

Great we have a product so let’s design a webpage. You can use whatever you want here really as we have covered this alot already. You should have a simply graphic of the bottle on it and text. Since we are dealing in the weight loss industry there are bunches of other products to promote so consider that when you get a domain and hosting. Get a generic domain catering to the entire industry as you will probably be catering to each product individually on a new webpage each time. However, you will be funneling everyone into a giant list. This again is up to you. I find it easier to write a year’s worth of newsletter content over an industry than for a product.

Basically you will want to know where the weight loss industry hangs out at. This is dead simple:

Weight Loss forums

General Health Forums

Yahoo/Google Groups

Social Networks with Groups

Those are just a few to get you started. Knowing where they hang out is the most important part of this to keep your cost down. If you were to go into PPC in this industry chances are that if your not a hotshot or really know your stuff, you’ll probably get burned. Besides, with what we are going to offer we expect a viral campaign to take place here. I will show you how to do it.

After getting your webpage up (which is a dead simple squeeze page) it’s time to put it together to entice people to optin. With a nice graphic on it displaying the bottle of Hoodia we would simple say:

5 Free Bottles Of Hoodia Up For Grabs

After filling out your name and email here please click the verify link we sent you in your email and your all set to receive the free bottle of Hoodia. On top of that we are sending you our 5 weight loss tips ebook that you can download instantly and read right now.

OPTIN BOX

Privacy Policy

Dead simple right? Here’s the kicker though. You will definitely want close contact with your list members. This is the most important part of list building. I would simply go to the Hoodia website myself and actually purchase the 5 bottles. My whole intent is to ACTUALLY give away 5 free bottles. I could do this later on and state it on a blog or website later on to get people interactive. I could also set this up many times over for each weight loss product I pushed and here’s how.

In my newsletters people will be getting you will want to mention to your list members that they should forward this to their friends so they can get in on the free bottles as well. You can even get sneaky and say something like this:

Hey even if your not interested in the free bottles your friends might be. If they are not interested they could at least signup and you will have even more of a chance of receiving a free bottle.

There’s a whole ton of things you can do here. The whole idea is that once you get one signup to optin, you want this list and the members who signup for it to do a lot of the work themselves. They just dont know it. :)

So in a nutshell let’s recap.

Optin page – Explains the contest and calls to action the user wanting the free bottles YOU will reward

After opting in and confirmation we can simply redirect them to the actual affiliate link as well. This is sneaky and kind of underhanded since your already going to give away 5 bottles someone might get two. It doesn’t matter though because this is how to pull profits from the front end and to fund other things later on. (Umm, like buying the rewards maybe?)

After redirection they’ll automatically be receiving that free weight loss 5 tips ebook. If your smart you will have affiliate links in it right?

Followup Newsletter of content – Calls to action to forward this to their friends and get them to signup to the free 5 bottles, ebook and newsletter your putting out. This is what we refer to as *making your list work for you*

Rinse and repeat to every product in the industry but keeping your newsletter generic and not specific so it looks like it’s going to each niche product individually and catering to them.

Simple as that. It takes a little cash yes to fund the products. However at $32 per lead and you redirecting after the optin, buying 5 bottles at $5.99 a piece sets you at $29.95. 1 lead and its profit from there on out. Using all the free traffic methods out there and tons of them written on this blog you should have no problem implementing a simple marketing method such as this one.

This is pretty basic and is used often by many <strike>spammers</strike> bulk emailers. It was actually a godsend back in my heavy Myspace <strike>spamming</strike> commenting days. The whole idea to most people is simply to redirect their traffic thru their own domains and servers. Most CPA networks actually encourage this. Do you know why? Yea, you guessed…spammola. Now I won’t say that CPA networks DONT want to know where your traffic is coming from because most of the time this is untrue. However, sometimes YOU may not want certain people knowing where your traffic is coming from.

Case in point…

Have you ever seen a CPA Network that has some kind of bullshit sentence like "Affiliates caught promoting on Myspace or Facebook will be banned"? Your probably thinking to yourself that the network just told you NOT to promote on these sites. This in most cases and with a lot of networks is actually FAR from the truth. They are in it to make money people and behind the scenes I can tell you personally that it is sometimes a VERY fugly business. It actually says "if your caught", it does not say to NOT promote there.

So I won’t get into specifics here, nor will I name any specific networks (hell, that may incriminate me), but reading between the lines and knowing how and what to do can actually keep you making money somewhere where you thought your glory days had ended.

Another case in point is with Yahoo Answers. Have you posted a link from a CPA Network and been banned? I know of affiliates that got the hammer from Maxbounty for posting links on Yahoo Answers. Answers explicitly prohibits any commercial traffic in their terms of service and Maxbounty will have none of it. Keep what I am about to tell you in mind, it will save your tail in the long run (or at least allow you to concoct some bullshit to tell your AM).

The difference between a PhP Redirect and a Meta Refresh is that a redirect can still log referrer information. What this means is that your Affiliate Managers can and will see exactly where your traffic is coming from. A redirect simply *redirects* thru one of your domains and can still display information that will let people know who are looking, as to where you been dropping your links.

It’s time to get smart because frankly I am sick of people griping about lost network accounts. A smart way to hide your referrer information is to use a the Meta Refresh. Here’s the code:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns=" http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;URL=AFFILIATE URL HERE">
<title>SITE TITLE HERE</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Just load this into a text file and name it whatever you want with a .html extension.

With this code you will have people passing your site and refreshing immediately. There are other ways you can do this and even set the count to a few more seconds. However in doing so you will clearly be showing that your passing thru and this may turn off potential WHATEVERS. The moment they hit your domain, it will get refreshed allowing you to display that your traffic is coming from your domain. Of course when this happens you are armed with a whole slew of ways to keep jabbering should you encounter problems.

In case you wanted the PhP Redirect code as well here you go:

<?php header("Location: Your AFFILIATE LINK HERE"); ?>

Save in a text file, load up to your server and rename it whatever you want with a .php extension

Of course there are a number of ways to modify this as well I just wanted to give a quick rundown and explanation as to what to do to hide that referrer information. I would never suggest you go out and do anything that breaks a site’s TOS or get yourself in trouble but the fact of the matter remains that a lot of people do it anyway. So take it for what’s it worth.

Before we get started with Part 3 of the 60 Days to List Building Domination I just received a comment in part 2 of a reader that incorporated an optin form into one of their existing Ebay ads and literally within a few minutes already got a subscriber! That is awesome news! The stuff works, but I would like to touch a few points here.

This method with all the sites involved, your optin form, your autoresponder, your squeeze page, these are all vital aspects of building a residual business. I am not giving you some fly by the night quick cash tactic here. Yes, you will probably recoup any expense within a day or two of using this method, but the whole point is to giveaway a great product that allows you to receive $40 in commission for anyone wanting to do the same which in all actuality will be quite a few considering your audience. The other point is that your building a high quality of opportunity seekers that are eager to make money online and this will establish what I like to refer to as “one touch profits”. The whole idea behind one touch profits is that when you have a large list or multiple lists you have that option of waking up in the morning, logging into your autoresponder and quickly broadcasting an offer to your list. After that, you just sit back and watch the profits come in.

Now when I say this isn’t some quick tactic, I am actually contradicting myself. It is very quick, you make money and gain subscribers VERY quickly at little to no cost. By selling just one copy of the rebranding rights you will be in profit from your ebay ad, and after two copies you will have paid for your Ebay ad, autoresponder, hosting and domain. From there on out is just a matter of consistency and aggressiveness, and that is what we are going to cover in part 3.

I am going to assume that you either are reinvesting your profits or have some money to invest already with Part 3 here. If you do not, then you will need to utilize the free methods I provided in Part 2 until your in the clear with no out of pocket expenses.

Within a week you going to be at a point of at least 4-5 sales. I am going to keep this very conservative when if your are in aggressive mode (covered later on) you will actually probably make a dozen or more sales a week. Let’s say that you have your Ebay ad up and you have your ad up at all the other classified ads sites and you have posted in once or twice in the Backpage forum then you are already well on your way to having a couple of sales. So let’s break down the expenses of starting off.

Resell Rights — $40. Not required but my best product to promote and get off to a fast start

Ebay Classified Ad –$30 for a feature classified (recommended) or $9.95 for 30 days

Usfreeads Premium–$9.99 monthly

Autoresponder –As low as $19.95 a month

Hosting –Less than $10 a month with Hostgator

Domain — $9.29 a year with Namecheap

Now if you can make plenty of money and signups just utilizing Ebay so total cost without the hosting and domain is –>$89.95 and you don’t even have to promote the book I recommended so really you could start at less than $50. Now considering most people already have an autoresponder then your really only looking at the initial advertising of $30. Pretty cool huh.

So let’s start with what to do after those first few sales. Assuming you make 3 sales, you will now have at least enough money to pay expenses and repost another featured Classified ad on Ebay giving you even more exposure for only another $30 a month. Do you see the snowball effect here? It works in your favor. You will want to post as many featured classifieds on Ebay as you can possibly handle. I should also tell you that this works in any niche, but not as well as it does for me in this one, or at least in my own experience. We need to get good here first.

So the consistency will pay off if you can post somewhat like this.

1 Featured Classified Ad for 8 weeks until the 60 days to domination are over

2-3 ads daily to Usfreeads. You could even go all out here and post more. Change up your titles on each ad, and definitely a good idea to change up your ad text every 3-5 ads

Gumtree is a good one but will require your own squeeze unless you cloak or redirect a domain and then send that back to them thru your autoresponse thru your Gmail account

Adpost and Backpage and Kijiji will follow the same route as Gumtree. Just save your ad templates from one classified ad site and copy/paste them into each site making for less time spent working.

Yahoo Answers — You will need to find questions like “work from home” or “make money online” and answer the question. Only then do you link to the source (your domain redirect or squeeze). Do not put the rebranded link in Yahoo Answers. It looks like an affiliate link and you will be canned by users quickly. Provide relevant answers and link to the source. Easy as that.

There’s really nothing more to it than that. The only thing is that you build as fast as you can and whatever budget you can. The quicker you get started, the faster you will have money to burn. Since everything is paid thru your Paypal account and instant, this is what allows us to literally at the drop of a dime to put up more feature ads at Ebay (our honeyhole) because we will have constant flows of $40 payments coming in.

When and What to mail our prospects

Everybody has their differences here but I prefer to mail CPA offers in HTML creative format to my list members. I generally mail out in 250 list member increments. This means everytime I hit 250 list members, 500 members, 750 members I will mail them a CPA offer. I normally mail out offers such as the Casey Soft Lead, Project Payday, and The Beach Bum System. These offers are free to the users and they only have to optin to these lists for you to get paid. It’s very simple, and with a large subscriber base, you can literally make a few hundred a day. You cna promote whatever you like, but I normally keep this mindset.

If I acquired this lead because I was offering something free, normally I can repeat this success by offering them more free offers to them that will in turn pay me. The user gets their info at no cost to them and we get paid. It’s that simple.

Now with your Ebay offer running for 30 days on end, the only work required here is that you renew the ad or add more. The only work involved revolves around the consistency of posting up new ads and answers each morning. You will be able to easily accomplish this with about 1 hours work granted you have copied your templates and can quickly login to the sites and paste them up. Keep rotating your headlines to avoid any spam problems and you will be fine. Also, make sure to have your Gmail autoresponder working with vacation status on and automatically sending your messages whenever someone emails you. You can even go as far as making an MSN messenger account and providing your contact details there. You can then set the messenger to away status and have an automatic message sending the same message as your Gmail autoresponder.

The only work involved here is answering questions on Yahoo which if you feel like you can provide your contact details there as well adding even more credibility. Have it set to your autoresponder and then it works on auto. The other work involved is as simple as posting your ad templates to the other sites. For about an hours work each day you can build a residual income while adding subscribers and front end payments of $40 paid instantly to you.

*Note* I will be holding the Skype conference tonight Thursday December 6th 7:00 PM Central Standard Time US this evening to walk anyone thru how to correctly setup their autoresponder with this method. I will probably have a little Q & A there as well for any general questions. I guarantee you at the end of 60 days your going to be in a whole position with your business, will have made a hefty chunk of change, and now have at least one large email list you can email offers to for residual income.

It’s now time to shift our focus on the elements surrounding where and how to start building our list at a rapid pace. Fortunately for you I have broken this down into the simplest tasks imaginable. As a matter of fact, some of the techniques are so simple that your probably going to look at me and think I am crazy. I assure you it won’t be the first time I have been accused of it. I always get a kick out of seeing what people say when I tell them I still utilize traffic exchanges. What? Yea, most people think and assume they are a waste of time and usually they are if you don’t know what your doing. When your in a traffic exchange your marketing to the newest of the new and you have to know their needs inside and out AND have one hell of a squeeze page to get signups. Nonetheless, I know two people personally that have made their livings online using traffic exchanges. So the next time you rag on traffic exchanges, just think about the people who do make their livings online using them. Nothing is impossible, but you have to know EXACTLY what to do or you will fail miserably.

Ok, enough about traffic exchanges, I am going to teach you about that later but right now the focus is on rapid movement and to do that, we need to start off in places that are free or very low cost and have huge amounts of traffic volume. Traffic volume is significant but what’s even more important is we have to be in places where we know people are likely to spend money.

The easiest way to start off and at the fastest speed possible is Classified Advertising. What? That doesn’t work does it? No, if your having doubts that it doesn’t work then there is no reason why you should read the rest of this post. You may go on and keep looking for that next miracle. For the ones interested I will outline the services I utilize to make the least amount of work possible to obtain a self growing email list interested in making money online.

First Principle

You will have to brand yourself somewhat. I know for some they like their identities hidden somewhat on the web and that’s cool. I can tell you right now that I didn’t get to where I am at today by hiding my identity. I am very upfront of who I am, that I engage in some aggressive money making tactics online and even some of the darkest tactics out there. It’s the fact that I really don’t give a shit what other people think of me. I didn’t get here because everyone thinks I am a good guy, I got here because I am me, and I work my tail off at what I do. Maybe it could be better if I wasn’t so upfront, but then again I live comfortably so what is the point of greed?

So you will have to make a choice in whether you want to brand yourself or site. I would say for the people wanting to remain a little hidden to use a pseudo name or site name. You think it up, I’ll tell you what to do.

Second Principle

Your going to have to know how to write classified ads. What like Usfreeads? Yea sort of, that will be one of the services we utilize but to get us off to a fast start you will need to get real familiar with Ebay Classifieds. Why?

For $9.95 a 30 day Ebay classified ad is very cheap. The site is packed with people wanting to spend money and by providing them a free ebook on how to get started making money online is as easy as it gets. Now, let’s add in the fact that Ebay has a built in HTML editor we could very easily (and I do) build email lists rapidly just from an optin form for free ebooks within the ad itself. I told you there would be a little cost involved but don’t worry because I have it all worked out to your benefit. Now, let’s think about this for a second. For only $30 you can actually feature this classifed ad for 30 days. That is only $1 a day to have a built optin form on a featured ad being rotated in one of the busiest sites in the world where people are spending money. Powerful right? It get’s even better.

The tactic is so easy and can be stretched so many ways but I actually promote ebooks I have resell rights to. I like to use general ebooks like Income4Beginners. Now to promote Income4Beginners it is a free ebook and only comes with giveaway rights. You have to purchase the rebranding rights for $40. This book is by far my best converter so I am sharing it here, but you should know that you have to go download the ebook and then purchase the rebranding rights at the end for $40. You can use whatever you want here, I am just sharing my best tactic and the book I use to lure people in.

The cool thing about this book is that each time you give it away thru your autoresponder and someone wants the rebranding rights as well, you get paid $40 automatically to your Paypal. There are no strings, if they ever have questions they don’t contact you, they contact the author. Just one sale and your whole 30 days featured classified ad is taken care of. Pretty simple, but by far my best tactic and often at times I only use this tactic. It works great in the weight loss niche which I just gave you another niche, so don’t screw me over to hard ok?

Third Principle

Alright I just gave you the fastest and best method first. Unfortunately it costs money and I realize that some people won’t want to try it. To coax you into how powerful it is, I want to give you a free tactic here that will of course pull in leads at fairly decent rates for free. It’s the powerful site Yahoo Answers. The unfortunate part of this is that it requires a little more work than the Ebay method. Once you set the Ebay method up it runs on its own for a month. The only maintenance it requires is to renew the ad each month. But while it’s running on autopilot I have managed to save you even more time to utilize Yahoo. All you really need to do is answer questions related to your niche. A simple way to do this is to type your keywords such as “make money online” and answer as many questions as you can. Do not spam, but kindly let people know about the free ebook you got for beginners online.

Redirect, Cloak, or Squeeze Page

Fortunately for us the copy on Income4Beginners converts. I have test both sending them straight to the site here, but the bad thing is that we cannot build our own list that way. If you bought the rights then you can obviously answer some questions fast with a domain redirect or cloak and get people to download the book. Inside the book they will have the same options as you and either way you will make $40 per sale. I personally use a squeeze page so that I can direct them to optin and get the information delivered immediately. When they do that I send them to this link instead of this one. That way after they optin to me, they get a direct ebook link to download instead of having to optin a second time which would and has killed my conversions. You can do it either way but I would highly suggest setting up your own squeeze.

Fourth Principle

This is so simple. You will need a Usfreeads Premium Account. I believe it runs $9.99 a month or something like that. You will need the ability of using HTML in your ads so that is why you need the Usfreeads account. This is another built in classified ads system with a large user base, ready to buy, and you can put your optin form into your ads directly. This works just like Ebay except that you can set all your ads to auto renew and it don’t cost for each one. You can simply pay $9.95 a month and post as many ads as you can possibly type. This is great because there are literally hundreds of categories to post in. What I do is write one good ad with optin form in it and then I copy this ad into Notepad. Then when you are ready to go all out and post 30-40 ads is as simple as copy/paste the body text and only changing the headline each time. See how powerful this? You could literally have the same optin form across hundreds of ads and would only take you a few hours and these ads will auto renew themselves month in and month out. I don’t know how it could get any easier. If you do some basic keyword research, your ad will rank in the search engines as well, pulling even more free traffic. So live and die by the title.

Fifth Principle

There are literally millions of people in other countries that want to make money online as well. So let’s go get them!

First we will travel to Kijiji in Canada. This is a very nice classifieds ads site and sports a ton of people as well. I would personally suggest posting in places such as Calgary, Montreal or Toronto. Just look at a globe and you will know the large cities of Canada. Now Kijiji has a built in HTML editor but I have been unable to post an optin form here. However you can use images, colored text, anything in the ad. This is great for us because we could anchor text our links to our squeeze page and have people optin from there to receive their free ebook. Just read the guidelines at Kijiji, it’s a powerful weapon to have on our side because I have not even encountered competition there AT ALL. I undoubtedly will now, but hey sharing is cool right?

An Even Better Trick is to have them email you. You could anchor text the email address right there in the ad and it won’t even require to advertise your site at Kijiji. Now, I have never had problems posting in the services or jobs category but I know what I am doing so if you encounter problems just tell people to email you at a Gmail account. Now in your Gmail account, set your autoresponder to away or vacation status and have your autoresponse say something like this:

Thanks for emailing me about the free ebook and information on how to get started making money online. For simple purposes I have posted it on a webpage. All you need to do is go here (link to squeeze) and tell me where to send it. Once you tell me, the information will be immediately emailed to you. Thanks and have a great day, Ruck

Something nice and sincere and you will lure them in by the hundreds. Have a look at Kijiji Canada and get familiar with it. There is also Kijiji.com for the US so it’s just another resource to utilize.

Sixth Principle

Hello UK, here we come! Taking the UK by storm with this technique is as simple as it is in Canada. For this we want to travel over to the ever popular Gumtree. The same principles apply here as they did at Kijiji. Now there is no HTML editor here so utilizing your autoresponder on Gmail is of the utmost importance. There are some other things there as well like providing a Skype username or Youtube Url. I haven’t tested it yet but if Skype allows it like most instant messengers I would set my status away on a skype account with an autoresponse. I haven’t tested it yet but I will. However I have used MSN Messenger with this inside the body of my ad and it adds credibility. Give them your Gmail account and they will get the autoresponse to your squeeze page to optin and give them your MSN addy (bogus of course for this) and set your MSN status as away and have it auto deliver the same message as your Gmail autoresponder. Awesome huh!

I would post my ad in the London, Stuff For Sale, freebies section. I know it’s a little untargeted but the make money online niche is very broad and for the product your giving away it’s surefire way to funnel tons of prospects onto your list for future education and of course offers from you to make more money on the lifetime value of your list members.

Seventh Principle

A few more sites with reputations for high volume are Craigslist, Backpage, and Adpost. I personally do not utilize the Craigslist services anymore as I have found that its user base is quick to delete almost any ad I put up. You can try them out but for what we are doing I bet you’ll get a better return elsewhere.

First thing about Backpage is that they are fairly lenient which will allow to post lots of ads. However utilizing their service has led me to a resource on there almost as good as their ads services. They have forums as well! Backpage has a large set of subforums that can be utilized. I have seen tons of work from home stuff flow thru their employment sections flawlessly. So while your putting your ad up on their classifieds service, don’t forget to mention that your offering your service (ebook) free. A nice post here and there providing value and a good signature line will go along ways as you build consistency over the period of list building domination.

Adpost on the other hand is a true gem. I will share one of many secrets here. For all the people who were trying to get Usfreeads ranked highly in the search engines, what happened with the last pagerank update? Usfreeads went down ALOT. A little secret I have been holding in for a long time is Adpost is to Yahoo what Usfreeads was to Google. I still to this day, trackback a lot of Adpost ads to get ranked highly in the Yahoo Search Engine. Now you may hate me for not sharing that sooner, but that would have caused an infiltration of marketers and I could not have that could I? Well, you have the information now, so use it. Adpost will allow to post to multiple countries as well, and I would highly suggest you take advantage of this. Posting outside of the US and being one of the first and few to do it, will yield the highest returns in very short amount of times.

In Closing…

I hope you get the idea here on how easy this really is. Some places allow us to use optin forms with their HTML editors like Usfreeads and Ebay and this should be used to its fullest extent first. I recommend Ebay as the quickest way to get signups and sales if you can afford to run the ads. I have given out one great product, my best one as a matter of fact to use. The only thing I suggest is that you do not market to other marketers. I cannot tell you how important this is if your not making very much money already. If you are and can provide credibility then you can succeed at this, but the money is with people who are brand new to the whole idea of making money online.

Always try to use some images when necessary. Some simple money images, nice cars, PROOF, or even a picture of someone happy will greatly increase conversions throughout all your advertising. Always be nice and sincere. Also, you should really only write on ad to post in multiple places so that you can simply copy/paste everywhere you go. Then when you get to Usfreeads and start making multiple ads, save all of them in a text file inside a folder so that you can rotate thru your ads throughout all the sites. This is where the speed and simplicity come into play. If you don’t do these things right then you are likely to come back and bitch later that it doesn’t work. It does work, and it allows you to jump into some of the most competitive niches out there with very little cost and hardly any work after initial setup.

So just think about the possibilites of a mortgage review page or even a weight loss review page. Getting a free ebook or quickly grabbing some articles and making one yourself would be a great primer to start acquiring leads at rapid speed utilizing these free and low cost methods. I hope you see the possibilities here and I hope you start implementing them because tomorrow I am going to reveal the final part of this large method on how to reinvest your profits to have your ads, optin forms, and squeeze pages work on autopilot for very little cost each month.

Stay tuned, Part 3 will follow tomorrow and it will be more aggressive.

I apologize but this post will probably not help you make money in any way. (LOL) If you do happen to sit down and read the whole thing, then email me and I will send you a shiny new quarter. Well, it may not be new, but if you can sit thru the boring shit I am about to write, then you at least deserve A SHINY QUARTER.

Alright anyway, I am now entering my third fall online. Taking a look back to the first year I came online and started working, I have to say that my life has changed tremendously. I have survived a divorce and a new child birth and I am currently expecting a third child and another shot at marriage with my fiance. Sounds confusing right? It’s actually quite simple. Do not ever work yourself so much that you forget you have a family. I have a stronger desire to work than some probably and it has truly almost cost me my family.

Everything is cool now, but back then with the divorce, then getting back together, then expecting another child, holding down all 3 jobs and trying to make something happen online was just to much. It damn near cost me everything including my health.

Ok enough of the flashback before we all get emotional. Fall is coming and here in Kansas it gets pretty damn cold. I am not much into cold weather. I used to roof houses and pour concrete as a part time job and I can tell you that I can take a 110 degree day a whole lot better than I can take a measly 40 degrees. I am not kidding. I got a left hand and a right elbow that aches every-time it drops below 40 degrees.

With the cooler weather I find that I stay in more and I get a whole lot more done. The days get shorter so the boys tend to go to bed a little earlier and if I can escape the clutches of the MS. I find that I get another 3-4 hours of work every night tacked on. All my success has come from fall-winter. Since the launch of both memberships sites in early spring it really has been a laid back summer. I was able to get back into the Adwords game and I launched a couple of content sites along with 5 new video sites. Nothing big but I was able to tack on some more residual income.

Last year at this time I was attacking MySpace with everything I had. I do not know why I spent so much time over there, I guess I just could not let go of those automated $1,000+ days. Those days are over now and ever since I have really been shifting my focus on more long term projects.

I really do not know what made this come about. I always loved the quick buck and it seems so weird that I was actually good at it. It’s going to be scary come tax time when I look back and see how much money came from sites such as Craigslist, Yahoo Answers, Google Groups and tons of others like this. I imagine that most people would give me a big kick in the ballzonies for the way I handled those sites. Ahh well, we live and learn right?

Knowing that those sites are heavily under the gun from other Marketers I have once again turned to mostly my whitehat skills. I find this extremely boring but with the recent turns in Web 2.0 I have found that traffic building is so much easier than it used to be. Hopefully it will stay this way, as I have a lot of plans lined up before the end of the year.

Anyway, the yodeling is over. How about you? Do you seem to work more as the summer ends?

Tell Me,

Some of my viral reports floating around such as the Yahoo Answers Report I have written are always ending up in people’s hands and then somehow they contact me and ask why I did not sell it. First, I happened to write up this report on a whim. I knew what a goldmine Yahoo Answers was and I knew that most people using it were either spamming it, or not getting results from doing it correctly. I put the report together in about an hour and shelled it out here, The Warrior Forum and the TechCrunch forum. Yea, I did give it out to the TechCrunch forum. Why you ask? Well, if you do a search for the reports title in Google you will see why I used the Techcrunch forum. Just a tip for ya :)

Seriously though I have no clue why I spend so much time in Internet Marketing Forums. Maybe it’s because I have a nice passive income that allows me a lot more free time than most. Maybe it’s because I am actually a rarity and really enjoy the company of other marketers. It could be because I like to go there knowing that there is mountains of knowledge there for the taking to help further my online business.

In all actuality all 3 of those are true. I go to these forums to learn, interact and because I have a lot of free time on my hands. I know that time can be applied elsewhere but if you remember (RJ members) back to April, I had a huge mental breakdown and it made me sick.

So here’s my little piece of the pie on marketing to marketers. Do not do it. I know it sounds weird, just hear me out. I really am not into the IM’ing fad. I vomit in my mouth regularly when I see those hyped up, shitty ebooks launching on Clickbank. I actually have a whitewall with a big red target on it, that includes some really well known Internet Marketers. Sometimes I would really like to put the skills to the test on some of them. All I ever see is the rehashed income shots from there last launch. The question that stirs the fire in my loins is “How good are these people at online marketing”?

Ahh well, everyone has there specialty. I really do not think I would be good at something like that. Don’t get me wrong though, I have JV’ed with many and hyped products but that’s only because I know they work. Let’s see how excited I got about the products that have worked.

Spacepromoter – Joe Tierney – Hardcore myspace tool that appealed to black-hats. I did like 3K in 10 minutes for a small list of people I consider my friends. Joe had sales of like 50K+ in less than a few days.

TrackbackGenerator – Joe Tierney – Hardcore trackbacking tool for blackhats. I did another $2500 with about 5 minutes with a small list of my friends. The program sold out in 2 hours 31 minutes and Joe did like 28K in that time-frame.

My Secret Tactic – Ruck – A tactic I employed over the last year and put together a small Yahoo IM coaching session. The result was 10K in about 1 hour of coaching and 1 hour of putting together a PDF

I only go for things and recommend things that I have used personally. How people buy from others that have not even used it is beyond me. Is it because of the bonuses? Well shit, I can go to a torrent site or Rapid share and get the same shit for free.

The point I am trying to make is that I personally only JV with 1 guy. The guy is one of the best programmers in the world but also, he uses all these programs and knows they work. Furthermore, I would go so far to say that I would put him up against the best marketers online and see what I happens. Joe is one of the best in the business and his support is nonstop. This is because he is a people person.

I consider myself a people person as well. Those 3 times are the only times I have ever hyped anything up. The rest of the time I made money from other marketers is when I recommended something thru my writing. While I do not know how much I have made from all this, I assure you its more than most. Trying to appease the Internet Marketing crowd is something I never saw that looked like fun. It is so much easier to do when your showing them what your doing for free and giving them the option of purchasing a recommendation.

Anyway this day is screwed. Another day where I have not felt good. I forgot to take the meds when I woke up this morning and it all just went downhill from there. If this post does not make any sense, feel free to email me, and let the proverbial bashing begin.

Peace,

Are you having trouble finding a niche? Can’t seem to quite find out what is selling? Well, today the answers are spelled out in front of you, that even a 5 year old can spell. S.P.A.M.

That’s right, all your niche needs are delivered to your inbox everyday. Whether your the type of person who simply deletes these type of messages or do not even give them the slightest glance, I can assure you that you are missing out on some valuable niche research.

You can get automatic niches sent to you everyday without ever doing an ounce of research or even wanting to receive the information in the first place. Better make good use of it, because Spammers are telling you bluntly what is profitable.

Here are a few things you can use to get this automated bullshit delivered to your inbox or admin panels.

Create a wordpress blog and leave every commenting option open so that anyone can comment and trackback, and do not upload any of the spam plugins. Just leave it be.

Make sure your able to receive trackbacks. There are gems that lie beneath the spam piles

Get a yahoo email account and leave all your preferences on default except the one that tells you to have spam sent to the bulk folder. Get as much of it as you can sent to the bulk folder so that you have a folderized set of niches.

Most of the trackback spammers are focusing on longtail keywords so only a few backlinks is enough to get them listed in Search Engines. As well, “piggybackers” as I like to call them, spammers who use “middle man” sites such as Squidoo and Hubpages will also drop you links and anchor text as to what they are going for.

DING DING DING DING DING

See you do not even need any niche research tools. I do not know if they even have them (never used them mself), but I imagine someone who sucks at niche research probably invented a niche research tool. That is usually how it works. But seriously, look into the pile of (what you thought) was crap being sent to you, and you will find a mountain of treasures.

Now if we could get some spammers with morals.

I really do not feel like competing in the Viagra, Penis Enlargement and Porn markets :)
