Power up your PPC (A scaling method)

Power up your PPC (A scaling method)

PPC, as we all should know by now, is pretty profitable… When we can get the ball rolling of course. Many times we set up our PPC campaign with Adwords, we make it profitable, then we ask, “How do I scale this?”

Scaling an offer means bringing in more targeted traffic. Now I say TARGETED traffic for a reason. You may think that just bringing in any old traffic will do. However, as it has been said in this blog before, “Not all Traffic was created equal.” There is a big difference between ordering 10000 visitors from some traffic vendor, and gathering 10000 visitors from your PPC keywords.

Okay so Google is sending you XX amounts of visitors. How do you get XXX amount of targeted visitors?

One way to do this is to refine your ads themselves. However, sometimes that gets old. We have a campaign that is making money… but we want to make MORE money NOW. So this is what I like to do…

Duplicate the campaign on other PPC networks!

Okay that’s easier said then done. Actually… It’s easier done then said. All you have to do is sign up with Yahoo, MSN, and other PPC networks and start bringing in the traffic with them.

So what are some other PPC engines that you can join up with? Here is my list. In no specific order (This list excludes the big guys Google, Yahoo, and MSN):

  • AdBrite – When people get banned from Google they go to AdBrite. I have found some of my highest returns from these guys!
  • SearchFeed – Strong ROI with a reasonable search volume. Geo-targeting available with 11 countries you can specifically focus on.

Profitable PPC headline words!

ad exampleHey guys and gals. Today is a good day… Or night… Tonight is a good night. It’s 10:44 pm and I’m feeling pretty wide awake.

I wanted to take some time to write to you about headlines. The other day I spoke at the Dallas Affiliate Marketers Association (DAMA). While I was there I met the owner of PPCFool.com. It’s a blog I’ve seen around while searching for information to add in my brain. During a break between my SEO clients this afternoon I was browsing blogs and I came upon a post that David made titled “Increase CTR with Shock Advertising“. So I thought… Okay. I like that… I should give my readers some of this as well.

David’s post talks about using words like

  • Exposed
  • Scam
  • Naughty
  • Sneaky
  • Secrets
  • Wicked
  • Yucky
  • Disgusting
  • Gruesome
  • Fatal
  • Jealous
  • Traitor
  • etc,

in your advertising… These words work great! Sometimes you just need to get traffic into your site. And these words will definitely do the trick. Saying something like that image I have up there and you’ll get crazy clicks! Shock factor is huge in the content network!

There is also a set of keywords… a huge list actually… That invoke a different feeling, but clicks none the less.

  • secrets
  • proven
  • guaranteed
  • winning
  • breakthrough
  • revealing
  • suprising
  • confidential
  • remarkable
  • dazzling
  • sensational
  • confidential
  • immediately
  • endorsed
  • quality
  • benefit from
  • profit from
  • potent
  • mind-blowing
  • alluring
  • limited
  • quickly
  • valuable
  • discount
  • reduced
  • lowest
  • refundable
  • revealing
  • unlimited
  • authentic
  • energizing
  • floodgates (of money, health, wealth, etc)
  • etc, etc, etc

Kool little “WHATS HOT” tool!

The mighty MSN has a new little tool. It’s called xRank!

If your a PPC person that is fond of celebrity type polls then this is what you need to be checking.  Don’t worry about buzz.yahoo.com or Google Trends. This new little toy from MSN will show you which celebrities are getting the most buzz.

I know this toy will show you over 1000.  I didn’t search much after that.  But how cool is that.  You can even find celebs that get buzz… that you’ve never heard about! Building a campaign around a celebrity that no one in PPC is building a campaign for is gold!

Check it out at search.live.com/xrank/.

Okay… I know I said not to combine it with Google Trends or Yahoo! Buzz… But do it anyways… Now thats power!

Update on my Media Buy

Here is a quick update for my media buy.

I have 7 replies.   WOOT FOR ME!

So, here is the scoop.  2 of the websites I’m not going to advertise on.  They have way to much traffic and came back with an immediate $500 a month fee. I’m not saying too much traffic is bad.  I’m just saying that websites with high traffic can and almost always will command big bucks.

The other 5 sites I’ve been replying to back and forth a little bit.  One of them even accepted the offer of a 5 day test.  The enthusiasm that some of these website owners have is great! I hate to say it but… You can play on their excitement. Saythings like “yeah if this works out we can make a deal for several months!”.  They eat this stuff up!

That one site that is allowing the 5 day trial.  I told him if all goes well I’ll give him $35 for 30 days.  He seems happy… So I’m happy as well.  We still have some things to work out.  But this should be rolling by the end of the week at the latest.  Communication is a little slow.

2 of the 4 sites have flat out said they charge $100 a month.  Now, for one of the sites I can understand with the amount of traffic it is getting.  The other site however made me laugh… The traffic was pretty bad and I know the guy isn’t making that about from his poor adsense placement. So I replied to him with a counter offer of $60 for 30 days.

Lastly… 2 sites are in price negotiation.  Neither has a clue about what to charge so I am offering $40.  One has accepted and if all goes well a banner will be placed by Monday.  The other has yet to reply.

Check out this Financial PPL site!

.

.

.

.

So the other day I had t3leads.com request an advertising spot on the blog. Of course I’m all down for allowing people to take a spot when they are available. So since they decided to join up with CT, I decided to check out their site.

This, just so you know, is a review of t3leads.com. This is not a solicitated review. I am doing this of my own free will.

t3leads.com focuses on financial offers. They are a PPL program. That means that they pay per lead. Now, they do work a little bit differently from most CPA networks that we find online. While most CPA networks pay you a flat fee for the leads that you generate, t3leads pays on a different scale. From what I can tell, you generate a lead for them, and then they turn around a sell the lead to companies who bid for the information. This means that there is no set pay for the different offers. However, you can definitely make some GOOD money generating financial leads for this network!

We all know that the financial industry is huge and very lucrative. t3leads obviously knows this as well. You’ll never find an offer for dating, or health on their network. Its all about insurance, loans, and debt relief.

t3leads is populated with several websites that they refer to as “public”. This means that you can send traffic to them via your referral link. However, you also have the opportunity to design your own landing page for sending them traffic. This is a pretty neat feature. Sometimes I don’t like something about a specific landing page. t3leads gives me the opportunity to create a landing page that I can be satisfied with 100%.

Review Style Landing Page Example!

Grant Review
Okay guys and gals… here you go! Click Here to be taken to the LP example. Also, don’t forget to check out the other LP example that I posted a couple weeks back. Click Here if you missed that post

Now. As I said before. I am a fan of clean-templates.com. This LP template was from lpelite.com which is from the same guy that created clean templates. I don’t know why… but I love these templates that he has created. Check them out. Buy them if you don’t know how to design your own pages.

The content I actually took from another site. I did change up some of the wording. But the images I hijacked…

Anyways. Remember these points for a review style page.

  1. Clean
  2. 3-5 offers to be reviewed
  3. Place the reviews first, then the content. (Some people do it the other way around… But I found it best to put the reviews first).
  4. Always include a blurp about the site
  5. Add multiple links to the offer. (the image is clickable, the visit site is clickable, and the visit link is clickable. Then at the bottom there are the sites again.)
  6. Place the offer you want to convert in the #2 spot (again… I found this is the spot most chosen.).

Thats all the points I can think of right now. If I think of more, or if you think of any add them in the posts!

Sorry for the delay… A word on SEO

Sorry it has taken me a bit to get on here. I have a client that is having some major SEO issues. If you didn’t notice. Google went around a few days back and started hitting people hard. So I’ve been really working hard to help this client get his rankings back in the search engines.

I promise I haven’t forgotten about the landing page I said I would show you. I’ll get it up tomorrow evening. (It’s 11:00 pm right now).

Working with this client of mine really made me think about some SEO factors that I know about… But have been slacking on. When you are trying to optimize your site for a specific keyword you have to realize that there are other people online that are trying to do the same thing for their website… for the EXACT same keyword/phrase. If you leave a website site without working on it… You will have problems.

Take my client for example. He is using me for SEO Consultation. In other words I find out why his competition is ranked higher than him. I then let him know what I feel is the best action for him to take in order to dominate the keyword/phrase. My client did an excellent job of implementing my strategy for his website. However, that is all he did. He took my suggestions and then left the site alone. He did the bare minimum. So when time came, his competition had done more work. They found more link partners, they had a higher keyword to content ratio… They were just overall better than him.

Another style of Landing Pages

Hey everyone.  This weekend I have been thinking a lot on the simple little concept of landing pages.  I am a HUGE believer in giving people choices over different “brands” of product.  We have all seen the websites that review different items.  Many of these review style landing pages offer a point system for product or service ratings.  These landing pages can command armies of people to buy a specific product!

Why are review style landing pages so powerful?  Because people surfing for things online like two things…

  1. They like to be guided to a products to buy AND they like to be told which of those products is best and which is worst.
  2. They like to make the choice for themselves which of the products to purchase/choose.

Those two little points are POWERFUL.  1 give them choices.  2 let them make the decision what to do. I always find it funny that when I create a review style landing page, people don’t always choose the offer that I have selected to be the top choice.  Even if that offer is the cheaper choice.

When I am making a review style landing page I like to compare 3-5 different offers.  I rate these offers on a scale of 1-5.  It’s important to not give all of the offers the same score.  And if you have 5 offers, make sure you rate one of them a 1. It’s all a psychological thing.
