I get a ton of questions all the time about “What’s the best way of article marketing“? I don’t think that their is any best way. I actually sit one side of the fence with this. Yes there are two sides of the fence here. On one side you have the aggressive article marketer who usually has a plan and sticks to it. They realize the possibilites and effects of Parasite SEO (using authority sites to get link juice or piggyback their authority into a funnel to your site). When you have a general idea on what it takes to achieve a ranking for a keyword then you will have a better idea how to gear up your article marketing efforts.
Seperate branding awareness from niche marketing (affiliate marketing etc…). I personally gave up having articles written to promote products. You may ask why, and I am going to give you answer that may offend some but will most likely open your eyes if you have ever struggled in this arena. The reason I do not promote affiliate products anymore directly from my author resource box is because I now have the resources to generate 10’s if not 100’s of thousands of pages for a variety of affiliate programs. Their are so many Ebay, Amazon and other affiliate network API’s and datafeeds that can be used by affiliates that it is almost defeating the purpose of sitting down to write articles or have them written promoting affiliate products. Now I realize some of the more successful affiliate article marketers may argue me on this fact but I have a simple reply. All we really need to do is have a race. Here’s why I would knock the snot out of you.
- You have to do initial extensive keyword research just to find terms you THINK you may rank for in the search engines. BOOOOOO
- You have to have the resources to pump out a lot of articles to make a substantial amount of money. A simple scenario is how long would it take you to have 100 articles ready to go. Longer than 10 minutes? Yea DUH! Of course it would take longer than 10 minutes, it most likely would take you a few days. Not me, I simply upload a script and voila! Now, all that requires is a few incoming good links and indexing begins like crazy.
- Your always taking a chance on thinking you can rank for a keyword. Even though you have 100 low competition competing pages in the engines, there is no guarantee that you will indeed rank for those pages. However, in less than 10 minutes after I upload a storefront or *mashup* as they are being called now, I can almost guarantee that a few hundred of the 10’s of thousands of pages will start to rank in short time for a ton of product related keywords.
Those are just a few scenarios. If your perfectly fine with being a progressive article marketer then most of this will be hogwash to you. If however, you are looking to be an aggressive article marketer, then you need to turn your focus on branding and actually promoting sites that have thousands of pages on them. Stop focusing on “the longtail” and all the bullshit you have ever read about promoting affiliate products thru article marketing and instead start focusing on generating large amounts of product content and submitting your articles with internal links into “hot pages” on your sites or blogs.
I have done it myself. I used to search for those low competition keywords and and focus on finding proper affiliate programs for them, but I can’t ever do that again. What a horrible waste of time and resources that is. I much rather prefer gathering high quality internal links to pages on my sites. This gets the bots to deep index your sites and the more incoming links you are getting, the higher the frequency of reoccuring bot visits. The more times they visit, the more likely they will view your site as one that is growing exponentially.
There are tons of other things involved here but I just wanted to touch base on an intro. I will be updating my own personal article marketing Domination guide to include the new ways of utilizing article marketing. I am feeling like crap today so I apologize for the short post.
