Key things to remember:

1. Above the fold design.

2. Always split-test landing pages. Start with two different designs, find the best performing one and then make a new variation off of the best performing of the original two.

3. Learn basic HTML for your own sake. Even if you don’t plan to design landing pages, it will come in handy.

October 28, 2008

Nice video thanks a lot for sharing.

Thanks for the great video Andrew.

It’s great that you emphasize tracking again and again throughout your videos. I guess that could not be emphasized enough (especially from your first successful experience in PPC).

Next major point was 2 landing pages and split testing them and then optimizing them again with more split testing for better results.

For a person just getting started on PPC would you recommend:

-Direct Linking only
-One Landing page
-Two Landing pages and split testing

Well, looking forward to your next video and thanks for taking the time to do this.

Frank

What is the different between prosper202 and tracking202?

October 28, 2008

Nice video Andrew. I’ve used landing site generator and it does have some nice features, but out of the box, its template is optimized for their month 1 poll method. So even if you use it, you’ll still need to hire someone to design an appropriate template that fits your PPC campaign .

Hey Andrew,

Awesome video. But I’m just wondering how you go about achieving a good quality score for your landing pages?

*Frank – Direct linking is ok during the ‘testing’ stage of the niche, to see whether or not the niche has potential or just to get a feel for the niche. I would convert to mine own landing pages pretty quickly if I am wanting to stick with the niche. Also, any new PPC campaign you launch (unless direct linking), from the very beginning start off split testing. No need in wasting money on just testing one landing page, when landing page #2 could outperform landing page #1 by 200% or more.

*Kok Choon – Prosper202 is the full tracking software that you download and have it installed on your own domain name and your hosting company hosts all of the files. That way no one (except your hosting company) could ever have access to your statistical data. Tracking202 is the exact same tracking software but hosted by Wes and the Tracking202 team on their servers. Some people prefer Prosper just to have a more secured feeling. Since Wes and the T202 team have it hosted on their servers, they have the ability to view your data, so they could look into your account and see what you have found that converts or other data. I personally know Wes and many of the team members and I know without a doubt, that they would never do that. I actively use Tracking202. Only go with Prosper202 if you have a little technical experience.

*Bookmark Demon – That is correct. It’s mostly design for the poll method. That is why I listed various sources to get landing pages from, it just depends on the type of offer you are running.

Great website and videos!

Andrew,

What are the resources (free or otherwise) that you would recommend for images for your landing pages?

October 28, 2008
Andrew

Please transfer all questions into the forum. Thanks.

Great Video. Am an absolute noob, and i really appreciated it. Thanks.

Awesome tips. Im reading this site daily. As for testing the initial campaign, in regards to Domain names – what is your strategy? Use generic niche specific domain? Or does it make sense to register a new domain for every campaign when first launching? Can we use the same domain for multiple campaigns?

October 30, 2008
Andrew

*J – If the niche is about dog training, then get a dog training domain name, preferably a .com. Never use the same domain for multiple campaigns unless all campaigns are for the same niche with different themes and are not duplicating campaigns with the same keywords.

I register new domains for each campaign I launch, even if I don’t know if it’s gonna workout. Sometimes I buy a couple domains at a time.

Please direct all further questions to the forum.

Its amazing that how many resources you can find on in the comments. I’ve found some really great free landing pages from these.

I use Tracking202 – many people say that they track your stats but I don’t think so because the owner Wes Mahler is a credible person in the AM community.

And as far as hosting goes you can get it cheaply during Christmas deals, last year I got a hosting deal for $9/year!

Landing Page is one of the most important thing you must choose wisely to get a high convert rate, right?

November 30, 2008

Hey, found your website through Zac Johnson. Just wanted to let you know I have about 10 or so free landing pages up above.

Also subscribed to your RSS, looks like some good stuff here! Look forward to getting a chance to read it all :D I like the RSS links here in the comment box — genius.

Once again, amazing information for free… This is the kind of stuff you’ll find in paid eBooks :)

December 13, 2008

@SkyWatcher T202 guys could care less about your stats or any other data for that matter. The big money is in building a trustworthy and respected worldclass marketing company, not stealing keywords from a few affiliates. I know both Wes and Steven…honestly you’re data is safe.

enjoyed the video but sometimes the bufferings are too long.thanks a lot :)

February 8, 2009

I had a question about split testing. If im making several landing pages and just want to see which design will work the best, do i get each their domain right away or do i put them as a folder on a different domain? For instance if I have datinglpexample1 and datinglpexample2, can i just do http://www.stevus.com/datinglpexample1 and http://www.stevus.com/datinglpexample2?

Hi Andrew, excellent video and tutorial. I think many business owners get lazy and even though they run a PPC campaign, they just keep what they got.

It has to keep moving. You can always improve.

Great video and stumbled.

another great video, you are putting it all together for new people. so much to learn, but you spell it out. thanks.

April 16, 2009

Sweet, landing pages have always been something that seemed like a daunting task. I guess, its time to get moving.

April 29, 2009

Thank you Andrew :) Good information.

June 1, 2009

Absolutely spot on video, thanks very much.

I’ve learnt so much about landing pages from others, but there’s no doubting that the best way is trial and error – testing and analysing is king…especially when it comes to PPC. I believe anyone wondering about landing pages and maybe what to link to should obviously take on others’ advice but don’t take it as the gospel. Use your own nous to try things out and test them to optimise. That is the best way in my opinion!

July 1, 2009

Steve,
For rotating landing pages, you can use Google website optimizer – it is free and easy to use…

PPC coach is a fcking joke, you basically pay for a freaking forum, the warriors forum is free and million times better.

February 25, 2010

Thank you Andrew :) Good information.

March 11, 2010

Great information in the video. The landing page is very important part of the quality score so it is important that it is done correctly.

Thanks

I have never been a fan of landing pages. I don’t understand how they do so well.
