Utilizing GumTree A Little Further

GumtreeI am just going to throw this out there and you can roll with it how you will. This tactic is not secret although I have yet to see it on Gumtree. I am not doing this tactic currently as I have piles of other things going on and I sold the 3 sites I used this with :), but I felt like sharing and it’s easy to implement, and oh yea–> It’s free. I been posting some random jargon lately, so here’s a “Cash Tactic”.

I really don’t know how many of these sites you could turn out, but I imagine this is going to freakin explode. Remember, I am doing this VERY COUNTRY specific so don’t doze off or you will SEVERLY screw yourself. We are promoting on Gumtree so make sure to sign up for Ebay Co Uk and Amazon Co Uk as well.

Now a quick note before we get going. I am not going tutor you in how to place a classified nor will I tutor you on how to build traffic. Take this as it is, and I bet after you see it, your niche sites will be a little more *fun* for users than general text based blogs and sites. :) Also, the cool thing about this is that a lot of your post titles will show up with the Youtube video icon in Google so that just makes you stand out even more. Whether your 1 or 10 on the first page, you stand out a bit more than the rest.

Alright here we go. I will be blunt, fast and furious, so remember to print.

Gumtree is pretty much like Craigslist. It’s a large classified ads network. I only ever posted in the London section. Seems like all the rest are just not worth what you will get from London. Get a bunch of Gmail accounts. The more ads you post, the more exposure your sites are going to get. The sites are designed in a way that users are not going to be able to help themselves but to click on an advert. Oh yea, Google Adsense can also go on these.

The idea is to first go here and get the script. Be sure to watch the video of how the guy sets up the script. After you watch the video, you will already know what I am talking about when I say your sites will seem a little bit more fun to users. It utilizes video within your sites for more social interaction. You can set this up for any niche you want and for whatever keywords, just watch the video.

Remember for god’s sake that your mainly dealing with the UK here so signing up to Ebay and Amazon’s UK programs are of importance. Utilize this across other sites aimed for whatever. You will know what to do.

Alright the site is up, so let’s head to GumTree. As a general example I will utilize the “Stuff for Sale” section and the subsection of Tv/DVD/Cameras. I do this because I am nice an I know statistically for me anyway, that Google Adverts pay a bit more for tech ads, and commissions for these products can be a bit higher than most niches. So thanks Ruck.

Have your Gmail accounts ready and for better conversions I HIGHLY suggest using some type of more personable naming approach in the account title. Like jeremy29 AT Gmail Dot Com or something like that. Be Personal. All we are trying to do is get as many people to visit our site and click an Ebay or Amazon advert to set the affiliate cookie, or a Google Advert at the very least. Also in your Gmail settings you need to set up your Autoresponder. Make sure “Vacation Responder Is On” is checked and compose your message. For demonstration purposes for this niche here’s a sample autoresponse:

Hey, thanks for replying to my add. Yes I do indeed have a 32 inch HDTV, a 47 inch Plasma and a few other tv’s as well. I have them listed on a webpage so you can easily see the pictures and look over the features. If you have any specific questions on the ones listed feel free to hit me back up. If you would like to look the tv’s over and see what else I have for dirt cheap you can go here–DOMAIN

Sincerely, Whatever

Not hard was it? That’s just a sample. Whatever niche your in, do whatever. I won’t teach you how to write good classified ads copy. You almost don’t even need it with an ad like that. Of course they are already interested, and you have a simple page they can see these at, so send them to it. “If you build it, they will come” :)

(NOTE) It’s important to remember to leave the autoresponse Subject heading EMPTY so that it looks like “RE: -Whatever they wrote you-“

I wouldn’t really try to persuade them. At least I didn’t. I just simply told them I had the products listed on a webpage.

Alright now that you got the autoresponder setup, it’s time to put up some ads. Please use a proxy. Go get Tor or something and after each ad, clear all your history. It’s just a preventative measure. If your placing lots of ads, then change your IP after 2-3 ads, just please don’t screw yourself.

When you get to Gumtree go to the sections I already told you to. Here’s a sample title for this niche:

Dirt Cheap 32 inch HD Tv and 47 inch Plasma Moving Must Sale

Look at the above headline and analyze it for a minute. I obviously am selling for dirt cheap and I am going to get targetted prospects for these two types of tv’s. Add that onto that I am moving which means that I am desperate, I can now pull curious people in that will want to email me to try and (dare I say) screw me out of the asking price :). All traffic is good traffic baby!

TIP — You must put your email address in the ad text when your advertising in London. The Gmail autoresponder cannot answer emails sent from the Gumtree form!!!! IMPORTANT!

Tips for more appealing ad:

1. In the email section put your email address with autoresponder on.

2. You can add photos. HAHA, this is so easy to do since your ripping from your site :)

3. Fill out the form personally. Name, age etc. No need for a phone number.

4. Preview your ad and make sure it’s nice and tidy. Click submit but remember that London requires verification so remember to check your email address and verify it so that the ad gets activated and will run accordingly.

Random Stuff:

Remember to clear your cache and history and change IP when posting a new ad in same city.

Be creative, I just gave you a prime example of what I have used. The options are limitless here. Also, I gave you Gumtree and the UK as it seems that this has not even scratched the surface over there yet. There are tons of classified ads sites out there and many, many techniques but for all you Ebay and Amazon lovers, this is a sure fire way to get a bunch of targeted traffic to your website.

Expand and Leverage. Many sites, many products, many ads. Google does a nice job of indexing and ranking these sites because of the video power on them. I don’t know why, and I don’t care. I am here to make money, and I just gave you a surefire way to do it, so utilize it, put a spin on it, make a bazillion dollars and buy me a new car.

Man, you are posting too much seriously.
You are all the time online at different forums, something is wrong with you. Go back to work if you are planning to release your “Millionaire in 12 months” report next year.

Now getting back to serious issues, yeah good stuff as well, do you have time to apply all the methods that you teach here?

For me it seems that there are so many ways of marketing and of driving traffic that the only way to really succeed is to pick up a niche, and became the king in that niche- like Daniel and gambling. No need to waste time with all other small things.

Your blog is an excellent resources for any marketer, but i was wondering whether do you work with all these methods or you just have a master plan and a master niche that you focus on.

I am sure that you know countless methods of marketing that work but i wonder how many of them do you really apply and exploit.

The only *tactics* I give out here on the blog are ones that I have personally use. I might bs a little in some of the general blabbing posts but when it comes to posting tactics, I only post what I have personally done and how I done it.

I haven’t even scratched the surface yet, and some things will most likely never even reach this blog.

As far as ways of marketing and driving traffic, I could sit on my PDC membership site alone each month and still make more than most people. So to me, the only fun is finding new things to test (exploit).

I know thousands of methods but they ain’t on this blog. If I haven’t made any money from it, and I didn’t think someone would benefit from the information then I would never even post it.

As far as writing goes. Yea, I used to be a ghostwriter :) When I first started online I was holding down 3 jobs, alcoholism, a family and was spared little time to write. When you got everything to lose you learn real fast that if you can make money typing words onto a computer screen, you had better be able to do it in the fastest amount of time possible for the most return.

Another trick is to do one of these methods, and go hire yourself a Paki that works for peanuts to do your legwork.

This is great unless you’re already using gumtree :P

But there are a ton of Classified ads sites out there. I believe Kinjii is becoming quite large as well. So many sites, so little time.

GREAT info, dude!!

What’s “PDC” though?

October 27, 2007

Ahh Forgive Me,

Everyone knows Clickbank so well, I keep forgetting that I utilize PDC so much more than CB, but not everyone does.

But, that is the link to them, and they are owned
by the legendary Mike Filsaime.

Cheers bud, you got my creative juices going trying to adapt this.

October 30, 2007

i know this may sound stupid and it probably is but if you have a static IP, what ways can you change your IP? the way i do it doesnt seem to be efficient.

October 30, 2007

Use Tor With the Vidalia and Privoxy bundle Mo.

October 31, 2007

Tor seemed REALLY slow what is the trick with setting this up to run faster and ONLY use USA IP’s?

October 31, 2007

I dunno. I always used Tor. Oh yea BTW, I did mention that this is a UK based classifieds. So keep that in mind with US proxies. LOL, that’s an easy footprint and likely to wipe you out even before you get going good.

October 31, 2007

Ruck good call on the USA IP’s vs UK IP’s

I was asking more of a general TOR question I guess not so much related to Gumtree, but that is still helpful.
