24 Bug Is A Nasty One

I will tell ya, I haven’t felt that terrible in a very long time. I am talking about yesterday. 2 nights ago I was up until about 4 am working on a project when I decided to get up and get me a glass of water. By the time I walked downstairs, I had a pounding headache. I took an aspirin and grabbed a bottle of war, a glass with some ice and I was back up to the office. The moment I walked into the offfice and shut the door, I felt like I just had done 15 kegstands. I was out of breathe, my head was pounding and worst of all I was dizzy as hell.
Right then and there I close up my project, shut the door and went downstairs to go to sleep. (L) woke me up the next morning about 10 o’clock. The moment I opened my eyes, I already knew I was in for a long day. You know that catlike morning stretch you do to get all your joints straight? I could not perform this action. It hurt just too much. Not only could I not stretch out because of how much it hurt the joints, whenever I bent my legs, my damn hamstrings and calves would start cramping up. WTF is that all about?
Oh, but it gets worse…
I got out of bed and went right to the kitchen for some meds. As most of you know I already suffer from a sleep deficit disorder so part of the problem could have very well been this. Anyway, popped some aspirin and got another glass of ice water. I sat down at the kitchen table. By this time I notice that the dizziness was accompanied by a queezy feeling. You know the one where you feel hunger, the stomach growls but you dare not eat?
Afternoon rolls by and (L) reminds me that we have a Parent Teach Conference for our oldest in preschool. I go over there and the moment I get inside and set down, I start shivering. Not just a little shiver, my teeth are chattering. I am already wearing a coat, my kids are not and I am shivering. Right then I knew something was wrong.
We walk across the street back to the house. The moment I get inside, I realize I have not worked much today and have a lot of stuff completely tore open. I run upstairs and sit down and I can’t even tell what is on the monitor. I am dizzy, out of breath and I just feel like shit. I am still shivering so I grab a portable heater from the closet and plug it in. It’s 5:20 pm and I lay down right there on the office floor. I don’t even have it in me to go downstairs and sleep. The moment I lay down, I am out.
I wake up at 9:20 pm off the floor. Everything is the same, I manage to get downstairs but this time I take two drinks of water and I am done. I don’t even want water. I go in the room with (L) and of course she wants to know how I am feeling. I answer politely as I can “Like shit”. I lay down yet again, and when I wake up it’s 8:15 am this morning. I don’t hardly remember anything from throughout the night, so I must have slept like a baby.
It’s 9:31 am now, I have drank over 2 bottles of water this morning and I feel like a million bucks. My joints don’t even hurt. The headache, fatigue and dizziness is all gone. Thank god because I am totally behind now. As always :)

I dunno,
I just know I don’t ever want that feeling again. I just woke from yet another couple hour nap and I am feeling even better. Kinda weird though, I ain’t shivering today but I get spots of sweating.
My girl says I’m sweating the fever out, I dunno really. I have never been the one to go to a doctor or pay much attention when sick. It feels good to be able to read the monitor though.

Thats some scary stuff. I thought you were going to tell us in the end that you died or something. But then I realized you hadn’t died because you were blogging about this… Hope you feel better. My wife was the same thing a week ago! Turned out she had strep throat real bad. So I took her to some 24 hour clinic at like 1 in the morning and they gave her some weird horse pills and told her to rest for 10 days.
I dont know if she drank 30 glasses of water… but she was really cold and getting dizzy spells.
FEEL BETTER!

Sorry to hear that man. Hope you get back to 100% soon. I can’t afford to get sick either so I try to eat right and take my vitamins and green tea, but when you’re working long hours it’s tough to pay attention to your health.
