The $10 month does cost because it must have some great feature. These websites for your website monetizing and optimizing is rarely found.

Saw pagealizer in the comments – also a very cool tool because you actuallyl get a movie of what they looked at. I wouldn’t use it on a permanent basis but I got great use from pagealizer on a long-copy sales letter where I needed to know if they were getting to the bottom. Was it that they were reading it and the offer just wasn’t enticing, or were they not even scrolling? Stuff like crazyegg doesn’t cover those types of questions. For most affiliate pages it is good, though.

For those concerned about crazyegg’s free limitation (4 tests simultaneously), google analytics has roughly the same feature, but not quite as snazzy. Of course then you’re sharing results with the “enemy” ;)

It used to be free in the beginning, not any more. I guess if you have a really big website it may work out eventually for you.

Too bad it’s not free :) If you want to track all your pages, let’s say 100, then it would be $99/month! That’s rather expensive, isn’t it?

I’d much rather recommend clickHeat – it’s an open source script that installs right onto your own hosting with it’s own control panel. No need to rely on a third party this way.

Additionally Google Analytics will track clicks on links (but not the exact location of those clicks) and give you a visual map for them.

I signed up with them when they had free accounts. You used to be able to get 5000 visitors tracked for free every month. I’m a visual person so I definitely recommend this program to those other people that are visual as well.
