There was a thread in a forum just yesterday that I wanted to publicly address. I have already posted a response there but would like to give the information away here as well. This is no big secret or anything, it’s just a fundamental packet of information you can use when you are preparing a product for an affiliate network.

With all the talk of Clickbank not allowing OTO’s anymore there has been a lot of controversy. They clearly state that the OTO must be on the salespage and what we thought once were brilliant upsell methods after a product purchase have now fallen into “sneaky marketing ploys” Clickbank considers. With this a man asked :

Once they buy the product they get taken to the OTO page to buy another product? Do they have to go through the checkout process over again?

He was followed up with some informative responses but I was waiting to see whether or not he was going to have his product on the Clickbank network. Before launching he made the product available to me to have a read and offer him a review. If I would have had to pay for the information, I would have been more than happy. Imagine that, the guy who hates them dumbass ebooks would have been happy paying for that one. Why? Because he did not make any crappy claims, he gave a step by step method of what he has done and still does. I found the information deeply informative and furthermore, I would to jump in and try it as soon as I read it. Anyway….

Sure enough he was going to put the product on Clickbank. I responded with the information I have gathered and from the own personal email I have received from Clickbank regarding the status of one time offers. I knew it would discourage him, and that was not my intention, instead I wanted to save him from work which ultimately, would have just cost him more time to redo or take away completely.

After he read thru my information he asked if Paydotcom allowed OTO’s. Yes they do. Furthermore, I decided to give this guy a little boost in the legistics of product domination. Now there are tons of things to do, but regarding that I have read his product this is what I told him to do. There is tons you can add to this, but use this as a starting point.

Alright you have a product, we’ll say it’s a digital download you ebook writing SOB’s. While I have nothing against you personally, from a business standpoint I have found that everything can be found for free. While you may put it together in a nice and neat (ordered) fashion, I still hate it. Nonetheless, if your an information seller, he is a great starting point to build off of when you have created a product.

1. Put the product on Clickbank. Your goal here is to gather Clickbank’s massive affiliate base. They handle all refunds, and payments to your affiliates. It does not get any easier than this. Your at the disposal of 100,000+ affiliates and you do not have to do much (granted) you have a converting salespage. Grab their affiliate base, it’s important :)
2. Put a replica that is slightly altered on the Paydotcom workplace. This is great because this brings immediate payments to your Paypal account. There are no check cashing fees like with Clickbank and Paydotcom is becoming more and more recognized everyday. The drawback is that you need to process the refunds from Paypal and you need to pay your affiliates. With the mass pay button, you can select to pay ALL affiliates at once, leaving the only work to being the refund processing.
3. Reinvest your profits from both networks and get you a few advertiser accounts setup on networks such as Commission Junction and Linkshare. There are many, many more out there, but these two networks carry a  lot of (high rollers) and can bring you tons of profits in a short amount of time.
4. Invest profits into lead generation. This tactic is very easy. You already have a product so now you could offer a condensed version or something like that on networks like Azoogle, Copeac, or even Maxbounty. These networks contain affiliate powerhouses as well. All you need is a lead capture page and pay the advertising costs out of your profits you are already making. Once you get going, if your promoting backend profits from your autoresponder to targetted prospects, your lead generation account will be able to run itself, and you will probably be making quite a substantial profit from it.

These tactics are not secret, and there are tons of other things you can do here, but use these as a general guide to get going with or even to get other ideas from.
