I agree with you, but also disagree. You and I (and likely the rest of the readers here) are not your average Joe. What we think is poor others really like.

Ask your mother or granny for their opinion, people from your target market. For example dog owners tend to be nutters, so in this case you need to ask some nutters.

The bottom line I suppose is test and get real feedback, it could be a case of ugly sells (as much as that pains me :-))
