The best IM List you will EVER See! and… An Update!
Gauher Chaudhry just posted one of the most EPIC lists of all time online! This is 350 websites that will help you make the monies online! So … Here’s a link for you: Gauher’s Epic List.
Now. Many of you have sent me emails asking me what I have been doing for the last 2 months… And I’ve been getting alot of questions about the case study… Well… We’ve had 15 conversions… That means we’ve generated a total of $15×27 = $405. On average we have generated just about 30 visitors a day from free online marketing methods.
So… What has caused me to stop blogging about it? Well the main reason is that the site has been copied several times. The copying has been soooooo bad that even the analytics have been transferred over to the doppelgangers. Unfortunately I can’t give an accurate representation of traffic statistics. But… 15 sales off of 100% free traffic is better than nothing right?
So, where do we go from here? Unfortunately I will not be continuing the case study. That should be apparent from my 2 months absence. If I was to move into PPC on the case study then someone will copy the campaign. Of I was to move into PPV then someone would copy the campaign… Some people have just ruined it for the rest of us…
Anyways, these last couple months I’ve been pretty busy with my coder while all of this has been going down. We’ve been hard work tweaking a piece of software that we use on a daily basis. I won’t go into too much detail about it. So… I hope now that I have a little bit of time I can start blogging with you about some extreme tactics that I have been using online.
Anyways, I won’t take up too much more of your fathers day. To those of you that ARE fathers…I hope you have a great day today! Remember… All that we do online is not for US but is for our FAMILIES.
To Your Success!
Kris Trujillo

Sorry to hear about the people copying your case study. Unfortunately that is bound to happen when too many details are revealed. Still, it sounds like the site is well on its way to becoming another source of regular income.

Kris, that really is unfortunate. All the time and effort you spend helping people try to make better lives for themselves by giving away extremely valuable information for free, just to have others be unscrupulous is disheartening. You have done a great job on this blog and I hope you don’t get discouraged by the bad apples that show up from time to time.

Too bad the copycats didn’t copy over your affiliate link too.
That would be pretty cool.Or maybe you can insert some code to swap the links over.

I’m sorry but the fail is all yours. I was actually looking forward to your case study and appreciate the attempt a lot!
But coming off in this post as the victim and letting everyone down because you’re too lazy to follow through with your commitment by going “oh crap, a few leechers copied my super-public landing page … i guess there’s no way on earth this project could ever see the light of day now ..” is not the way to do things man.
There are/were soo many ways to do this or continue doing it without throwing your hands up in defeat after a minor hick-up. For example, not sharing the URL? Or doing the case study behind closed doors while it’s active and only then revealing the juicy details?
Maybe your decision to start a large case study was too spur-of-the-moment? Anyways, not trying to go on a rant. It’s not a big deal, just sayin whats on my mind.

@SitPoMk – Appreciate your honesty. I was waiting for this comment to come.
I’m not playing a victim. I really can’t successfully continue with the case study. I made several mistakes when I started this.
1. I was relying on others to do the actual work. I flew myself out to Utah to train to guys in how to successfully create some html pages and to do the basics of “free” marketing methods. I then thought I could train them over skype for other methods when we got to that point. But I learned that marketers come and go. Everyone has the wish to make money online… But not everyone can do it. If I could get in contact with one to two of they guys that took offer for themself then I would be more than happy to help them. At least they took the initiative themselves to try and make some money online.
2. I gave out too much information too fast. I couldn’t get ahead of the curve because of the other projects that I’m working on. I should have waited a couple week before delivering the URL. Better yet… Like you said, I should have done the case study to completion first and then released it to the public.
3. The case study was too large for myself at the time. Only because I have so many other things going on. I have my own campaigns and I have my product creations, my CPA network, and my employees. Because of the nature of how we were doing things it was taking time for money to come in. Unfortunately because the money wasn’t coming in very fast I really didn’t have too much of an interest.
Anyways, I accept the fall for this one. And I appreciate someone like you for pointing things out and speaking exactly what is on your mind.

These are a lot of great ways to make money online. In my opinion internet marketing consulting, as well as affiliate marketing are two of the better business models online.
I use both of these and I have been quite happy with the results.

Hey Kris, really great idea of linking out to 350+ im list, sorry to hear that there are copy caters out there, kinda of lame that they did that, I guess you can take some Positives and negatives out of that… Perhaps a positive would be that, you’re really influential, that people want to inspire to be just like you in a way…. Well.. the negatives would probably be everything else :(
Till then,
Jean

@Jean: yes he could definitely take it as a compliment that people would want to copy his site. It would be quite frustrating though. It essentially ruins the case study by adding a bunch of extra direct competition.

It sucks when people can not do their own work, but have to resort on stealing and plagiarising yours. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy, but they sure didn’t warn us about all the dishonest creeps out there either! Whether it be in cyberspace or in real life, there is a plethora of parasites out there just waiting to attach themselves to a suitable host. Make sure you don not become that ;-)
