Good stuff Kris.

The second option is one i think a lot of people overlook. You can learn a LOT from just watching TV, or I would even add looking at existing internet ads to the list.

Since I started marketing (not all that long ago) I really see the world a bit differently. When i see an ad on TV, I now think to myself “I wonder what their ROI is for this ad?”. I look the language they use, the visuals, and the overall message they are trying to convey. Its not surprising that much of this kind of marketing can be applied to the internet.

Great Stuff … Look forward to what else you have for us coming down the line.
It great that your bringing it back to the basics .There is sure a lot of people in here that need to get back to and understand the basics before trying to jump in and expect to make the big bucks…you have to walk before you can run.

Yeah my g/f watches a lot of crap on MTV. I’m starting to pay attention to what she’s watching though, it seems whatever show it big at the time, can be great fodder for an online poll –> zip/email submit offer.

This is great stuff, Kris, thanks for breaking it down even further.

But - enough with the limited RSS feeds! It’s not like CT is ad-heavy and needs the page views. I subscribed via RSS as it means I can keep on top of the posts without interrupting my workflow too much.

Now we’ve got to start clicking through to read the full post? Please, turn it off.

@marketingexperience - This would be blog #1 for me. :) It will take me a bit to get in the flow. But I think I can handle it. Thanks for the support.

@Whoopsie - Sorry but the more tag stays. I know a lot of people have expressed concerns with it but it really keeps the front page clean and organized. Maybe I’ll throw in a post every now and then without that tag for…

@whoeverwantstolisten… This blogging thing is fun… I should have done it a long time ago :D

LOL yeah I noticed that. That has to do with mybloglog.com so I’ll have to figure out how to change that so my picture pops up… I’ll have to actually take a picture first. :D

What offers normally only require a zip or emailadres? I really would like to see some of these offers in the Netherlands!

May 22nd, 2008 @4:56 pm

You can keep the more tag on the posts but not make it limit RSS feeds pretty easily. Just do a google on it.

The limited RSS feeds really are a stinker and very jarring to what everyone is used to.

Great read Kris, looking forward to hearing more.

@Skylar & Pdaguy9 - your pictures look amazingly like mine :-)

Kris Said,

@Lenen - There are alot of different zip/email type offers. The most common are “Free Gift Cards” and “Free iPhones”/”Free iPods”. It can be a broad choice depending on the network.

If you want to find an offer for the Netherlands ask you AM to get one for you. Thats their job. When you make money, chances are they will be making some money as well… so ask your AM to help you find an offer for a specific country!

@Matt- Thanks, I’ll look into that.

“Great post Ruck. Thanks! Some good tips there.”

Good old habit ;)

Cris, I think you can change the avatar by changing the (admin) email with what you are using with mybloglog. just an idea.

I’m not trying to be a grammar & spelling Nazi, because I’m not so great myself.

But it’s “you’re”

“If you’re starting out and trying to run a sales based offer….”

Good write-up though.
