Doesn’t make great business sense really.
Consider that you have 100 or so affiliates, 10 or 20 of whom have fantastic SEO skills, Keyword domains related to insurance and these “super affiliates” are pretty much full time affiliate marketers who spend all day promoting their affiliate sites.

The insurance companies who withdraw their affiliate deals now have their one website/brand and have to compete with all their former affiliates.
The smart insurance groups will be expanding into this market, finding out which companies are canceling there schemes and doing their utmost to pick up all their former business – easy, ready made, targeted sites fully maintained at no cost!

The US news actually covers the bad financial/economic conditions abroad a lot depending on which channel you watch. The local news generally just focuses on the US credit/mortgage crisis, but national news and other channels such as BBC America, PBS, CNN, and HDNet have news programs that talk about international news more than American news.

It just seems like things in America are worse than over there as evident by our dollar dropping more and more. If things were just as bad over there, then the devaluation would be less than it is now.

“would be”? already happening as stated above. Dont think they would shy away from drowning the Internet users with advertising JUST to shift to SEO. Do think and already have seen them shy away from Paid Advertising to bring down their overhead advertising budgets.
