Comments on: MySpace and Facebook Blog Commenting (Free Traffic)

Placing blog comments is a good way to really let the word out about you and your site. :) That’s also free traffic I should say. But there are some concerns about it in terms of link building.

Questions like, how would you go about doing Myspace, FB and blog commenting as link building? Do you only select do follow ones? Those only with on-topic and or related niche sites/blogs? This is interesting to know isn’t it? Especially if you really want to get some good amount of exposure for your online business.

We’ve done some testing and found that this is not the case. Google doesn’t seem to impose a penalty on sites with links coming from off topic sites. In their eyes, the more links the better, regardless of whether those links come from relevant sites or not.

With that said, I think you need to try and get into the mind of Google a little, and imagine what could happen in the future. It makes sense that links coming from relevant, on topic sites (aside from Myspace and Facebook) will carry more weight than those that don’t . In the future, it’s likely that when websites have links from relevant websites, they’ll be pushed higher in the rankings.

Yea, but Facebook has a lot more potential. Their hits surpass Google too, lately. On the contrary, Myspace is slowly fading away.

As long as a comment is on topic and helpful, I don’t see how it can be seen as “spam”. It is really great, when you post and then manage to start a discussion. Blog commenting, Myspace, Facebook etc., is all about adding value.

I hadn’t really thought about blog commenting on Facebook and Myspace but it’s time I started, it seems like. I think I’ll start with Facebook because it seems to be a lot more popular than Myspace at the moment.

Both are awesome social networking sites and traffic from these can make the difference. I like blog commenting but contrary to other persons, i like it for the goal of targeted visitors and acquiring deep into the community, get to find out folks.

It will probably be easier to post on myspace because they are less likely to monitor the site as closely. It’s just another way to get your site/brand in front of more people.
