Hello Ruck,
First sorry for being off-topic.
I am a freelance developer from Sri Lanka, and I am happy to say you that as a freelance developer I am a somewhat success but I am a firm believer of the potential of the Internet Marketing and seriously considering, trying and doing IM full time.
Earlier, earning a $1000/month was not a problem to me, yet I decided to try the new venture, not because it is an hour/day job as suggested by some crappy e-books but it has end-less potential as proven by few reputed blogs like yours.
My first hurdle is getting registered with few reputed networks. I already registered with Advaliant.com (thanks to you too) and since I am from Sri Lanka getting registered with those networks is almost impossible to me. To make it worst, my English speaking is not that good too. My question is, is there any possibility to help me to get registered with some reputed networks like NeverBlueads, as you helped me with Advaliant.com?
Thank you for the great service.

Fisrt off I want to say that I was a beta tester for PollFactory.
I have never used a piece of software that works as easily as this one does, it allows you to make a site/landing page for a CPA offer.
With this software you can create your polls all in one place then copy a little bit of code and place your poll on any domain/subfolder/root it’s totally awesome and fast.
This has been on of the best peieces of software that i have ever used that alows me to make money this easily

Ruck,

Im not sure if I can tell you how much I appreciate what you have done here. This is the first product i’ve ever sold (I have done a significant amount of open source development previously though), and this will be such an incredible help for me.

So, a very sincere thank you.

Jason (gokarter),
Thanks for the kind words, i really appreciate your help with Beta testing, im not sure if you realize how much of a help just installing and running through the motions was for me.

Also, a big thanks to JerkJr and my good friend Tevin for their incredible help with Beta testing. It takes a stand up guy to give you your own username/password on their personal server just so you can work out bugs.

With all that said, I hope those who choose to purchase Poll Factory enjoy the software. If you have ANY suggestions for improvement please post them in the Poll Factory Forum, and you can be sure I will take them into serious consideration for future upgrades. (which are all free BTW!).

The same applies to bugs/issues. The tool has gone through a months worth of beta testing, but if you encounter any problems please post them in the Poll Factory forum

As i said earlier this is the first product i’ve ever created, so im kind of learning as I go as far as payment. If you have ANY problems with payment, please do not hesitate to contact me at lostshootingstar@gmail.com and I will get things resolved ASAP.

Lastly, Once I figure out how PayDotCom works a little more I will be setting up an affiliate program for this tool, so if you are interested in promoting it keep an eye on the sales page for an “affiliate” signup page.

Thanks everyone,

-Eric

Eric, thanks for giving me the chance to test out the beta version. It’s a beautiful poll tool, it looks really slick and professional.

JerkJr and I had previously developed a combo poll/landing page script together which uses a database and, dare I say, is even easier to churn out quick polls with (when it works)… but frankly the visual impact looks like shit compared to yours so well done!

I’ve recently written a blog post about using polls with PPC and I’m getting a lot of SE traffic - I’d be well up for promoting your poll factory there once you’ve got an affiliate program going.

April 25th, 2008 @8:06 pm

HugePedlar,

You actually have the OLD version of Poll Factory. This released version is COMPLETELY different than the one i sent you a while back.

I didn’t have you beta test this new version because i didn’t hear from you with the first version, but im glad to hear you did install it. thanks for that.

you can check out a “test drive” of the *new* Poll Factory admin panel here:

http://www.thepollfactory.com/test/admin

April 25th, 2008 @8:12 pm

Ah cool, even better! Yeah I didn’t have a lot of time to give an in-depth test of your early script so I didn’t want to give some half-arsed feedback.

The link you just gave doesn’t work in FF3 on OSX by the way (nothing but the background image shows), but it’s ok in Safari.

Tevin Said,

ok, here’s the deal if you don’t see the value of this software you’re nuts.

I’ll tell you that over the last year I have launched litterally dozens of failed am attempts.

Movies, insurance, video games, ebooks, you name it. I’ve lost money trying it.

Then I started using poll factory. Once I got used to the software (which took me about two poll set ups before I had it down to a science).

And in just my second poll I was able to find a converting offer that litterally gave me an 800% ROI.

I’m an idiot when it comes to coding/tracking. using CSS. etc. This software makes it a cinche, any idiot can make a profitable landing page… trust me. I would know.

The price eric is asking is a steal. Even at twice the price… And frankly, I know he has big plans for upgrades and future versions. which will undoubtedly raise both the value and the price of the software. So with free upgrades, its a no brainer for ANYBODY in aff marketing. Noobs (like me) and veterans (like ruck).

Thanks again eric for a tremendous product!

I got my copy, I will be trying it out this weekend. I can’t believe how easy this looks. This is something I can teach my kid to do. I’m going to have her making 25 of these a day. Then maybe I can get my wife doing some too. That’s it, I’m starting my own sweat shop.

glenster Said,

When does the user see the results of the poll?

diamondjack Said,

Hi everyone

This looks great but how do you or where do you link to CPA offer on this. I can see how the poll is created but once user click one of option how do I get CPA offer linked to that button?

Thanks
Sukh

April 25th, 2008 @10:46 pm

Trust me HP this script eats our script for dinner in poll making. However, that first thing we did with our script eats everyones script for dinner… and breakfast :)

Great product Eric! I’m using this in replace of the ppc-coach landing page generator.

Looks very promising, and I have got to say, the price is very tempting.

Gokarter Said,

@ diamondjack There is a tab within PF called Poll options , and all you do simply Copy and paste you affiliate link in the spot where it says link1 and or Link2 . Not to complicate thing but you can even use 2 different affiliate links if you wanted to. Hope that helps

Tevin Said,
April 26th, 2008 @1:08 am

@glenster

At this point in time, the stats of the poll answers are not tracked or displayed in this software. The point of the polls, is to get them to opt-in to the CPA offer and make you money as quick as possible… The way that it’s set up now works great for me!

@ diamondjack

This is all set up through your admin panel of the software. Under the “Poll Options Tab” just pop in your affiliate link in each of the provided fields. It automatically creates your button text and links. SIMPLE!

Ruck Said,
April 26th, 2008 @1:19 am

Yea,

You can tracking easy unless your currently doing your own. Wes Mahler just released Prosper202 which is the equivalent of Tracking202 except that it’s a self hosted version now that you control :)

April 26th, 2008 @2:37 am

This looks interesting… I’ll consider buying this myself.

Does the user ever see the poll results, or do they just get forwarded to the offer no matter what?

April 26th, 2008 @2:42 am

The vote buttons go directly to the offer, results are never shown.

The option to display poll results will probably be in the next major release, but I have found that polls wich show the results after someone voted don’t perform as well.

If i’d have to guess, i would imagine they just add an extra distraction for the user. When they click on the vote button and are shown the results, i think they feel like they are “done” with the page and will switch mindsets and do something else.

Whereas, when they are taken to a page that asks them for their email or zip code, they might think…”ok, maybe i’ll enter my email and see what happens next”.

April 26th, 2008 @3:16 am

Eric,

Sorry I did not get a chance to test it for you. Sounds like a great product. I’m going to get it and try it out from a rookies point of view.

Gokarter & Tevin

Thanks guys. I did not pay attention on the demo page. This looks great.

Am I right saying that you need a PHP host site for this to work?

Now if I could just work out how to drive traffic to this.

Thanks

April 26th, 2008 @3:22 pm

How are you guys promoting these polls… PPC, forums, torrents etc.? What avenue of promotion do you find converts these the best?

April 26th, 2008 @3:59 pm

Everything I’ve done with poll has been on the Google Content network. Honestly, i just follow Ruck’s CPA series to a tee and use the poll pages as my landing page.

April 26th, 2008 @10:39 pm

I just bought it - gonna give it a go! :)

April 26th, 2008 @11:43 pm

Any secret to getting a poll ad approved on Facebook? I’m having a hell of a time.

April 27th, 2008 @12:44 am

Eric,

I just bought the product. I also will follow Ruck’s advice to a tee and see if I can get some results on my first few tries. Will let you know how I am doing.

Just so everyone knows, I am not an affiliate here. The only gain I got was the honored priviledge of getting a copy which is worth 1000X more than any commission, considering the product. As for polls on Facebook, you’re on your own, but if you do get it to work, dont come back here and tell us :)

April 27th, 2008 @3:50 am

Is there any way to password protect the admin panel so anyone just can’t go in and use the software, edit/delete polls etc.?

April 27th, 2008 @4:12 am

Right now there is nothing built into the software, though its on my “list” for future enhancements.

I didn’t really see any immediate security risk with this, especially since your polls are hosted on completely different domains or folders than your admin panel.

However, I do understand that many affiliates are protective of anything marketing related.

I think the most effective security measure is to hide the admin panel in an obscure directory and turn off directory indexes.

If you are looking for something a little more robust, you can use a very simple .htaccess file on the folder you admin panel is installed on.

Wow, that is a sweet looking program. I am going to have to check this one out a little more…would save a LOT of time.

April 28th, 2008 @4:14 pm

After experimenting a little, you can’t really hide the domain name the polls are installed on. I created a poll on one domain and promoted it on another. Users can see the actual domain it’s installed on if they simply right click on an image and go to the properties tab.

I also asked a colleague to see if they could find the admin panel by viewing a poll on a completely different domain. It took him about 5 minutes.

I’d say a security feature in the next update is a must-have! Otherwise, I could see people just using someone else’s installation to create and promote polls without even buying the software.

April 28th, 2008 @4:16 pm

Yes, i’ve received a few comments about the security issue, and its already being developed for the next release.

Are you finding that polls still work on AdWords? The last few polls that I put up aren’t getting any impressions. Actually, none of my new campaigns are getting any impressions on CN over the last two days. Could they have done something to my account?

Tevin Said,
April 29th, 2008 @2:06 am

@ Chris

I went through the same thing when I first started polls. My account went under review. That took 3 days. Then it took two days to review the ads.

All in all it took 7 days (including saturday and sunday = non business days at google) to get my first campaign up and running. Now it takes about 24 per campaign to get my ads approved.

Keep in mind that ALL content network campaigns are human reviewed before they start running.

Ruck Said,
April 29th, 2008 @2:07 am

Could be but polls are stronger than ever for me. You really got to think outside the box. I dont even bother with celebrity polling really but polling sports, video games, perfumes…you get the idea:)

Chris Said,
April 29th, 2008 @2:35 am

OK, so they obviously didn’t ban polls or anything. Good, I thought I missed an important Google update or something. I’ll just wait it out.

April 29th, 2008 @3:14 am

Eric,

What about the cloaking features? Everyone here says that they are necessary. Are you using iframes or is this an enhancement? Also, I assume the polls integrate with wordpress or is this not necessary?
Thanks
Solvetheproblem

April 29th, 2008 @3:17 am

I have always used my own cloaking system (for all my affiliate stuff, not just poll factory).

However, I actually received this feature request today from a user, and thought it was a great idea. it will definitely be in the next release

Hey Ruck,

Thanks for sharing this. I went ahead and bought Eric’s Poll Factory. What a great tool and a time saver. I’m going to unleash it and see how it does.

If I get good results, you’re not going to hear from me again because I’ll be too busy churning out new campaigns.

Ruck Said,
April 29th, 2008 @5:17 am

Good stuff Hock,

I should have mentioned but I dont get anything from this post. Just wanted to let everyone know that the post and the banner on the blog brings me no revenue. The fact that he let me have a copy, is an active member of the discussion forum, and is really starting to stretch out is more than enough to recommend this. I look forward to any results or updates you may share!

April 29th, 2008 @9:28 pm

Thanks for sharing this. Creating a poll is a great way to make earnings with CPA tactics. I will check out the POLL FACTORY!
