CPA Marketing Series – Spammola

I apologize right now folks. It seems that my newborn baby girl may be coming sooner than expected. Because of this I dont want to start the next part of series until I know that I can at least sit here for a day committed to answering questions and participating in the conversation. With that said, I also did not want to leave you hanging with nothing to read so I thought I would show a couple of things. I’m trying to split this as evenly as possible among PPC, Web Placement and Email CPA Marketing so since we’ve talked about testing out small offers on the Google Content Network, I will be going into general web placement. For the most part, web placement for CPA Offers costs you very little. A lot of the times it can even be free.

However, I am going to warn you right now. Some of the tactics are downright aggressive and may be frowned upon. I’ve done my best to move away from spam but in the end doing my best to keep from it, there will always be people that look at it as just that. Hopefully I can show you how to aggressively promote web placement cpa offers and not piss of the networks or the sites your using.

Without further ado, look at this. Just plain ownage. Almost every major artist I search too. There are TONS of hacks, exploits, SEO tricks and just plain free methods of generating leads. Now for the more slow moving whitehat it would take months probably a year to get any type of decent volume going just with a site. For the overly aggressive SEO geeks like myself, it happens almost monthly to find a new, fast loophole we can exploit. Nothing bad going on here except the fact that we know the Yahoo and MSN Search Engines are completely pathetic in respects to their Search Engine Ranking Algorithms and we know how to exploit it. On the other hand, thanks you dweebs. You too make my life so much easier by being so transparent. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother paying for traffic from The Googles in the first place?

I’m not into spamming anymore but learning from spam is VERY valuable. Use what you see in the next two images and try coming up with your own competitive edge.

And no this is not me :)

And of course another:

March 10, 2008

Congratulations Ruck on the new soon to arrive member of your Family. Now you’ll have one to cover almost every aspect of IM’ing.
Hope everything goes great ,Please keep us informed.

why the hell didn’t I think of that…

March 10, 2008

No apology necessary, Ruck. The doctor and the parents never check with the baby – that’s why the delivery date is always unexpected :-). I wish you and your family all the best on the birth of your daughter (note: girls are a lot different than boys).

March 10, 2008

Family first brothaman. Take care of your own. We’ll be here when you get back.

March 10, 2008

Ahh yea, thanks everyone.

Whoever is dominating those terms are absolutely crushing it. Wow, ranking for all those terms for free. Gotta love it.

March 11, 2008

Hey man, congratulations on the baby. I hope your wife makes it through ok and your baby is healthy.

March 11, 2008

Congrats Ruck. Just joined yesterday and am already hooked. Best info I’ve seen in a long time.

These guys are killing it. Looks like google is quicker about killing spam groups, some of those links don’t resolve to the google groups.
Backlink profile is mostly international comment and guest book spam…hmmm, have a theory there.

Not really into spam myself, but going to run a little test here since I think it won’t be too hard to keep my distance. You know, for science.

March 11, 2008

Congrats Ruck, my baby girl is 3 weeks old today. Family first.

March 11, 2008

Uh, holy crap. I’m having a ‘duh’ moment.

Congrats, man! There is no better feeling. Good luck.

A year ago I wont lie, I would have outsourced group making and would have automated the backlinks and would have been all over this. I’ve kind of learned my lesson from getting in trouble on Myspace but just looking at this does give some good ideas. I mean just creating groups around your niches and linking in an out from your landing pages is bound to have a positive effect on your quality score. I dont think it’s any different than linking blogs, lenses, hubpages, 360 pages with related content.

There are tons of niches and offers this can be applied to I think with such the massive scale of spammy groups. Although I dont think groups like this benefit users so it’s probably a real gray area on the terms of service.

Ruck —

Thinking of you and your family, how exciting to have a new baby almost ready to join your family!

I checked out the links above — Google seems to have caught on and disabled the groups, however the big Y has not. Clicking on it takes you directly to a ringtone landing page loaded up onto Yahoo groups (in case its gone when others go to look).

Even if it was only up for a short time, this person probably made a ton of money before “G” removed the group(s).

My first reaction was that this technique didn’t seem too terribly spammy, but then I don’t know the scale of it either. Part of me thinks it was just a pretty darn good idea that really didn’t cause anyone harm. Why didn’t I think of it first? LOL.

March 11, 2008

I assure you that it was on a scale they made me say “Holy Shit”. There’s always those “Think of it first moments” your right. I still think constructing something useful to other groups users is still viable for short term (SEO) and longterm (user value) benefits. However dont really know if I would spend the time doing it.

March 11, 2008

Gee Ruck, I don’t think you could’ve made it any more obvious for the casual reader to figure out what you are talking about in the two images. Free traffic is almost as good as free beer!

Best of luck to Mrs Ruck and you on the newborn when she arrives!

March 11, 2008

Unfreaking real, Ruck.

Awesome info!

Congrats on breaking the 400 subscribers mark!

March 11, 2008

Congrats Daddy Ruck! This is a super special time, make every minute with the little one count. They grow up way too fast!

March 11, 2008

I know this pal in search rankings 8)
He’s making not so much money on ringtones – only around 50K per month

March 11, 2008

lol ONLY 50k per month , Plus prolly another 50k per month in other niches etc… not bad for a months works.
P.S whats his secret ? LOL

March 11, 2008

50K is an ok number actually for this type of spam. You have to remember that his rankings are coming from MSN and Yahoo so a the traffic volume is less than Google. But for the amount of time spent on doing this (which most of it is probably automated), I would imagine that the 50K is more than justifiable to the time spent.

I just can’t comprehend how people make money like that, and I’m struggling to make any kind of positive income.

I’d be jumping on my bead if I made $1000/month doing that.

March 11, 2008

The first $10k/m is the toughest to get…but afterwards it will be easy to get money coming in! Coz everything is on autopilot :)

March 11, 2008

The First 10K ? How about the first $100. or even $50 for that matter ? LOL in due time it will happen .
We just have to set small goals for ourselfs ,cuz if you set them to high your just setting yourself up for failure.

March 11, 2008

I blogged about this over a week ago.

March 11, 2008

@Gokarter: Yep u are right! Start small and you will certainly reach it! Dont give up! Many affiliates give up after a few trials!
My goal now is to reach $1000/day.
My first 10k/month was the toughest though! Diversifying and starting again from scratch has been the hardest so far..coz i am just lazy to do it all over again in a different market!

March 11, 2008

How did they do it ?

Sign up with yahoo/google group, but how they rank so high ?

March 11, 2008

Well, that pretty much signals the end of that little trick.

March 11, 2008

@ Marry – It’s because Yahoo and MSN’s search algorithms are pretty pathetic and give a lot of weight to these groups.

@ Derrick – I would like to point everyone to Derrick’s blog as he stated that he blog this way before I and his articles are a little bit longer and provide more information than mine.

@ Rip – For sure. But like I said, your own twist on this and I still bet you can make bank. I never once copied a spam tactic and made money doing the exact same thing. I always tried to put my twist on it and that usually resulted in complete failure or gave me better results than expected.

March 12, 2008

After reading this, I searched for those listings in big G and saw they were removed. But I found a couple of guys in my main niche using this method to rank OK for very low search volume/low competing pages terms.

Discovered some decently ranked (1st & 2nd page) Answerbag profiles w/ links to ringtone offers. Used “keyword ringtone” as account name and repeated in profile link to offer.

@Eric: I know what you mean, but comprehending the amount of money is (IMO) the very first step to making it a reality. Usually it happens in increments – 1st sale, 1st $100, 1st $200, etc; as you hit those new “1sts”, the amounts of money you believe you can make increases. That’s why with each new “1st”, I copy that check, carry it around in my wallet and look at it from time to time.

March 13, 2008

How high were that groups ranking?

March 13, 2008

Front pages of MSN and Yahoo for tons of artists ringtones terms.

March 24, 2008

There is a fine line between Spamming and legit Link Building. Personally, I prefer walking on the line, and make as much profit as I can from it, but others are definitely on the SPAM bandwagon. I guess it depends on what are your long term plans, if any.

Thanks for the tip though, this is something I need to explore a little bit more.

June 16, 2008

Ruck, do you need to create relevant landing pages content keywords for googles content network?

I hear google will penalize you with higher min bid prices if they dont find your keywords in your ad group relevent to your landing page & ad text. Has this been your experience Ruck?

November 30, 2008

Its going to the Yahoo and Google Groups. And i can guess about your baby! The baby is a “Girl”. Just kidding, this is a very very early post about your baby! :)
