Just out of curiosity how long has this specific campaign been running since this data was extracted?

I almost thought you were crazy for revealing this much until I double checked that second second screenshot and realized the keywords you showed werent getting hits… but great series I am learning so much. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS.

@ Collin - This is the 7 days option in Adwords.

@ D - c’mon now, you did not just say “second screenshot and realized the keywords you showed werent getting hits” did you?

You see at the bottom of the second screenshot where it says “Search Total - Off”? Adwords Reports on total clicks by Adgroups name but not individual keywords for Content Network.

So look again :) 26 clicks, 101,944

So many little things in this series that it would be hard to cover them all. In fact this campaign is still running, it’s in small profit for the testing phase.
Remember - Even though I showed you something small, I still held nothing back :)

This series has been great so far and you keep throwing more and more at us it’s great. I feel like I’ll be able to put together a profitable campaign this month. Thanks!

HAHA!

We just testing out on Google Content Bro! We havent even really begun the series man!

March 7th, 2008 @8:30 pm

Just curious…why is the http://www.celebreties.com keyword in the superficial.com adgroup? Oversight or strategic?

March 7th, 2008 @8:31 pm

Sorry, WP added the http:// but you know what I mean

D Said,

I saw the 26 clicks, 101,944

I’m talking about the keywords that are actually in the screenshot. They are all 0 and 0 for clicks and impressions.

oversight :)…Completely unrelated

Ruck Said,

Yea I know and this answers that:
“Adwords Reports on total clicks by Adgroups name but not individual keywords for Content Network”

Never has for me. Hence why I track by adgroups (impressions and clicks) when testing on Content.
If Search was enable it would reveal normally like in the Adgroups screenshot.

K, I’m set for the next post…thanks Ruck

HAHA - Me too but the Content Network is a beast. Wait till we get to search boy are we going to have a field day….er week…month.

Ruck,

This is like getting an MBA in IM. Can’t thank you enough for this. And I love that it’s win/win for everyone.

D Said,
March 7th, 2008 @8:47 pm

So on the content network you need a server side script to know exactly which keywords are working? ;-)

Ruck Said,
March 7th, 2008 @8:54 pm

@ D - Yes if you want to track at testing then yes. That is why I stressed that I only track at the adgroup level to start. If I were to setup tracking from the get-go it would take me a long time as you will see why when we go further into the series.

However though I dont discourage it all. Track everything you want and move at your pace. The only real issue I have is 90% I run turn out to be duds so if I am setting up tracking for each one and they are going to be crappy performers anyway, it’s a real time killer.
But it’s really about what you are comfortable with.

Wow, this IS like getting an Masters Degree in Internet Marketing. Wait ’til we get going. I’m betting that the payoff will be huge! Can’t wait to see Search.

That looks fairly similar to my Content Network campaign. I have one adgroup focused on a domain. Interesting.

Good stuff.

Must be that ‘casino’ website of mine that puts me into the spam filter…lol.

I like what your doing here…

@ Destone - Thanks man. Wanted to ask ya if you were actually from the Overland P area in KS man? That’s like an hour drive from here.

Ruck Said,
March 8th, 2008 @12:06 am

@ Chris - Yes you little sneak, I do believe I casino being caught in my filter. It’s cool to link to it man, I just approve those as I see them anyway.

Search is a ways off. I’m thinking that readers are thinking that we are going to move right into Google search after Content. I can tell you that we are a LONG ways from talking about Search.

Ruck,

Yup, right outside kc area. There are a few ppl around these parts in our game.

hey Ruck, Im just curious if your Ad Copies vary within the different adgroups.

Forgive me if i sound ignorant, but ive done alot of marketing with the search traffic, and of course it’s all about targeting the keywords that you have in your campaign, in your ad.

so im just wondering, are you somehow including the domain’s in your ad? Does each adgroups ad vary, or are they all the same?

I just ran a test campaign of my own in a different niche, and i couldnt garnish any clicks, i have 2000 impressions so far, and no clicks, and I used a general ad copy for all of my adgroups.

Should i be targeting these domains in the ad somehow?

Thanks man, i cant wait to fully understand everything your talking about here, i havent felt this excitement in a while , and good luck with the new baby bro :)

Great! :) Glad you got it working.

This is a gem. Good advice for the Content Networks has been scarce. A lot of people say that the Content Network is crap, but I say it’s a rough Gem. It’s different than search, so you need to approach it differently. Remember folks, think for yourself, and you will profit greatly from your own experiences.
