This is a gem. Good advice for the Content Networks has been scarce. A lot of people say that the Content Network is crap, but I say it's a rough Gem. It's different than search, so you need to approach it differently. Remember folks, think for yourself, and you will profit greatly from your own experiences.

hey Ruck, Im just curious if your Ad Copies vary within the different adgroups.

Forgive me if i sound ignorant, but ive done alot of marketing with the search traffic, and of course it's all about targeting the keywords that you have in your campaign, in your ad.

so im just wondering, are you somehow including the domain's in your ad? Does each adgroups ad vary, or are they all the same?

I just ran a test campaign of my own in a different niche, and i couldnt garnish any clicks, i have 2000 impressions so far, and no clicks, and I used a general ad copy for all of my adgroups.

Should i be targeting these domains in the ad somehow?

Thanks man, i cant wait to fully understand everything your talking about here, i havent felt this excitement in a while , and good luck with the new baby bro :)

@ Chris - Yes you little sneak, I do believe I casino being caught in my filter. It's cool to link to it man, I just approve those as I see them anyway.

Search is a ways off. I'm thinking that readers are thinking that we are going to move right into Google search after Content. I can tell you that we are a LONG ways from talking about Search.

Wow, this IS like getting an Masters Degree in Internet Marketing. Wait 'til we get going. I'm betting that the payoff will be huge! Can't wait to see Search.

That looks fairly similar to my Content Network campaign. I have one adgroup focused on a domain. Interesting.

Good stuff.

@ D - Yes if you want to track at testing then yes. That is why I stressed that I only track at the adgroup level to start. If I were to setup tracking from the get-go it would take me a long time as you will see why when we go further into the series.

However though I dont discourage it all. Track everything you want and move at your pace. The only real issue I have is 90% I run turn out to be duds so if I am setting up tracking for each one and they are going to be crappy performers anyway, it's a real time killer.
But it's really about what you are comfortable with.

So on the content network you need a server side script to know exactly which keywords are working? ;-)
