My Current State On Retail And CPA Marketing

Just a real quick post that will answer a lot of questions that I have been getting.

I will be making a change soon as I take on a larger business venture that completely eliminate me from selling my own products and will definitely take a lot away from my retail income. I wont say that it will take away from my CPA income entirely but it will reduce the amount of time I spend as a PERSONAL affiliate for the CPA Networks I am associated with.

While I do love the CPA Industry and almost every network I have worked with on a personal basis it’s time for me to move on just a bit. Not entirely but for the most part as a personal affiliate I will be cutting down the amount of volume I personally push and focus on pushing each and every month. I can tell you that I never once intended to be just an Affiliate Marketer all my life. While I love the business it only makes more sense to establish my own network of publishers and that is exactly what I will be doing.

I wont go into much detail until we are officially launched but this should help keep the emails that I have been getting from marketers, jv prospects and of course all the affiliate managers to a lower level. Just wanted to give a public shout as to the situation of my business right now.

Good for you Ruck! Affiliate marketing can be fun but if you do not grow in business you eventually fade away.

Wow Ruck, lots of changes in the works for you huh? New child, going back to school, new outlook on business. You might just be the most ambitious person I have ever “met”.

You know what would be sweet, take a campaign or two that you don’t think you will have the time to manage anymore and “give it away” as a prize in a blog contest. That would be a first! haha.

So still in the AM business, just not doing your own stuff and not doing someone else’s CPA? Hmm. Got me interested. Curious to see what this turns out to be. The only clue we have is “pushing a network of publishers”. Hmm…

Say, haven’t spoken in awhile, but I’ve been busy. It was through your words that I got off my duff and did something. I now earn $10-$12K a month doing PHP freelancing for AMers and some limited AM work, and that’s just for starters. Just wait until my own AM projects kick in.

Yes I am still in it and continue to be, I’m just cutting way back. If I am pushing a network of publishers then that means I obviously have my own affiliate network :)

Nice job on the Freelancing man!

Sorry off topic here- but just wanted to ask if anyone else is getting the urge to throw up from all these other blogs this week with pictures of people partying at the Affiliate Summit. I know some people like the convention and “showing off, but I would never attend that waste of time. Sorry for venting…..

If you google on “how to start your own affiliate network”, it turns up lots of interesting stuff, including these two links:

    http://www.alstrasoft.com/affiliate.htm

    http://www.associateprograms.com/articles/175/1/How-to-start-an-affiliate-program

This is so that you can become like a Commission Junction or CPA Empire, and other AMers lower in the food chain work through you. (That’s not derogatory, though — these lower AMers still make outrageous cash and don’t have a lot of burden of say CPA Empire’s overhead.)

And, in order to do that, you need to have some outrageous bandwidth capability and the kind of analytical processing necessary to raise profit enough to go over your bandwidth costs. Most of the time that’s a tough problem to solve, and requires some very experienced, intelligent technical partners.
