Kaboodle Issues Round 1

I have gotten a few messages and even held a Skype conversation with linking issues and Kaboodle. Previously I talked about how to utilize the Kaboodle Toolbar to quickly add links and products to your Kaboodle lists. I would first like to remind everyone that I merely use Kaboodle as a sort of Parasite SEO method to get inbound links to internal product pages on two mashup sites, a few datafeed sites and a couple of E-Commerce sites. I am not using Kaboodle as the *lazy affiliate way*. The only products I have added directly with Affiliate links were used as only examples.

Programs, links, merchants and networks are all going to differ in linking structure. For instance I was able to add a link from Wrapables (CJ Merchant) with the Kaboodl toolbar and everything parsed just fine. However yesterday I was on Skype with a person who was doing the same thing but the url and affilaite cookie were not working properly. I am unable to answer every specific example, so be sure to test that everything is working properly. Worse case scenario you will have to add them manually. I actually prefer this anyway. Here’s how to do it.

Go to your Kaboodle page
Click on the list you want to add a product for
Click Add New Item (Top right of your profile pic)

That will bring us to adding our own link. (Be sure to cut the http:// off after entering it)

From there it’s super simple to create your Titles, Descriptions, Tags and changing any images. I test over a dozen links from a dozen different networks and had zero problems last night. Yes, boo-hoo for the manual adding but that’s life. I still can add certain from the Kaboodle toolbar easily because it’s like bookmarking webpages.

However, I had ZERO questions about that. Every question was regarding inputting products specifically into Kaboodle. I dont do that but I knew the majority would so that’s how to do it properly without facing any problems with urls or cookie sets.

I tried it with some known sites like bestbuy.com and some others..and used your above method..but it showed up as affiliate.bestbuy.com

I found that unless its a well known shopping site..kaboodle will take our affiliate links if not it defaults to its own affiliate site links.
I am not sure if I am clear here..! What i meant is use lesser known merchants from Cj, sharesale, etc.

I haven’t tried this so I don’t know if it would work, but couldn’t you use a php or meta redirect and give that to kaboodle instead of the straight aff link? An extra level of separation might make it work.

I just added straight from the merchant and I was not happy with it. That is why I am pursuing the mash-up sites. Trying to figure this all out before I go any farther.

Ahh well you can still do the lazy affiliate method and add links to Kaboodle via manually. If you were optimizing your listings before with the toolbar, this doesnt really take too much longer.

BTW Ruck, how do we get our pictures in our blog comments?

Actually while I was trying in vain to figure this out I found a potential privacy hole. If you examine the properties of our blog avatar pics (in firefox right-click and select properties and view the end of the Location url) you’ll find the commenter’s email address embedded inside it.

It’s a bit of an effort to find it manually, but the work of a few minutes to code a bot to harvest them all automatically.

I have done the manual post and the only problem I find is you can’t get a picture off the sales page. Is anyone else having this problem. I just add a picture from a different URL but it only shows on the list, if you click on the picture when it shows the item the picture does not show up, weird. I’m still screwing around with it too so we’ll see.

This works like a charm. Just like you said it will and I can have someone do this all day with no problems.

But here’s my question Ruck… I know you don’t do this for Affiliate commissions, but do you think this method can generate a couple of hundred a day in affiliate income?
- if not, have you blogged or posted any methods that if worked on hardcore, like 8+ hours a day, can generate $200+ a day?

In my honest opinion I really do not know. However at the phenomenal growth rate Kaboodle is experiencing, I think the time is now for getting your affiliate links in there. I have been using Kaboodle as a source of internal links to product pages since Kaboodle has so much power in getting indexed and ranked so fast. I’m sure that if I really wanted to I could get really aggressive with the site and dump a thousand affiliate links into directly. I decided to go a more subtle route and link to pages that offer a bit more on descriptions and allow me the opportunity for optins.

Read the Affiliate Marketing category Ed as there are some quick and aggressive ways of making money. Since the upcoming launch of of my partners and my CPA Network I have not really gotten the time to explore a whole lot of money making ideas. This is a good reason I had to break the Kaboodle posts up and even come back to write out some ideas to get past a few issues.

I noticed someone has done a nice job with AStore from Amazon. Might give this a try. You could have tons of products all set up and post your links to your Astore.
