Haven't really dealt with hostgator, I've been using bluehost since i started out and have been happy with them.

maybe it's cos of some negative karma from some folks using rss2blog on the hostgator servers and getting their accounts shut down from too much resource usage

Yea,

The plugin was not actively linking at during the writing so I came back with the {edit} to let everyone know that I noticed this. I first said no affiliate links were used in the post but I noticed the plugin activate later in the day so just wanted to point out that I came back and edited my first statement.

That's cool you have a guy coming into the forum because I'm going to have to transfer 7 sites over to them, with him to help it should be easy.

Little heads up mate, you left an {edit} note to yourself in your blog post.

What's the difference between Linux and Windows web hosting. I understand the general definition difference - but is there any noticable superiority one over the other?

The headhunting reward is pretty common, but I've never seen it offered to non-employees of the company doing the headhunting.

I did a sneaky thing once for a company I worked for that doubled the reward because of a hard position to fill, so it was $5000.

It was pretty easy since my employer didn't have a large HR set up yet. All I did was take the job description and post it on Craigslist as if I was the employer looking for help. I collected the resumes and handed them in. I have a lot of connections in the industry so I told them I just networked and asked around. When they hired one of them, we met and I just told him I got his resume from a friend of a friend that worked for a friend. Once the company got bigger, I recognized their help wanted ads all over CS so I couldn't get away with it anymore since HR would already have a submitted resume.

Spent $25, made 5K.

HAHA...It's not theirs :)

Also I edited the post as the word hosting is auto linked for Hostgator hosting. For some reason
the plugin just decided to activate awhile ago. As far as the referral for the job listing though,
that is not an affiliate link. Just wanted to point that out.

Not only do I not have the willingness to move to Houston, I don't have any friends who might be interested. I guess that's the price we pay as we get old and sedentary. However, the hostgator people are awesome, and I'd like to be counted as awesome as they. :)
