Want A Job With Hostgator?

HostgatorNickycakes already posted the lowdown on this topic but I was able to speak with Justin who blogs and works for Hostgator this morning during a Skype call. Justin and I talked about Affiliate Marketing and all that good jive for awhile but we were also to talk a little bit about hosting as well. Justin will be joining the forum as well. So instead of hunting down Hostgator support or any of that nonsense Justin will be able to answer a lot of questions directly in the forum.

Not your typical money making post here but this is a money making opportunity nonetheless. I also have been with Hostgator for over two years now owning 2 Dedicated Servers and multiple shared hosting packages and I have always recommended them as well. In my opinion and experience I have never had to go anywhere else for hosting nor do I want to.

I would like to point out that Hostgator is running a referral system and paying out $2,500 to whoever refers them an employee who stays with the company for at least 90 days. With that said I would also like to point out that this post is only biased on the fact that I respect them and have found their services over the last couple of years nothing short of outstanding.

{Edit} Affiliate link for the word hosting.

Here are the details of the job referral system:

1. They must be able to legally work in our Houston Headquarters.
2. They must be employed for 90 days in order to be paid.
3. You must fill out the below referral form before their first interview.
4. You cannot refer yourself.

I just whipped this post up quickly after lunch and have posted no monetary links for myself. You can also go directly to the job application and check it our for yourself.

Not only do I not have the willingness to move to Houston, I don’t have any friends who might be interested. I guess that’s the price we pay as we get old and sedentary. However, the hostgator people are awesome, and I’d like to be counted as awesome as they. :)

sparky- that’s the most pathetic showing of an affiliate link in a comment section that I have ever seen.

HAHA…It’s not theirs :)

Also I edited the post as the word hosting is auto linked for Hostgator hosting. For some reason
the plugin just decided to activate awhile ago. As far as the referral for the job listing though,
that is not an affiliate link. Just wanted to point that out.

The headhunting reward is pretty common, but I’ve never seen it offered to non-employees of the company doing the headhunting.

I did a sneaky thing once for a company I worked for that doubled the reward because of a hard position to fill, so it was $5000.

It was pretty easy since my employer didn’t have a large HR set up yet. All I did was take the job description and post it on Craigslist as if I was the employer looking for help. I collected the resumes and handed them in. I have a lot of connections in the industry so I told them I just networked and asked around. When they hired one of them, we met and I just told him I got his resume from a friend of a friend that worked for a friend. Once the company got bigger, I recognized their help wanted ads all over CS so I couldn’t get away with it anymore since HR would already have a submitted resume.

Spent $25, made 5K.

Mike1115, that was a good one. 5k for thinking outside the box. Way to go.

What’s the difference between Linux and Windows web hosting. I understand the general definition difference – but is there any noticable superiority one over the other?

That’s cool you have a guy coming into the forum because I’m going to have to transfer 7 sites over to them, with him to help it should be easy.

Little heads up mate, you left an {edit} note to yourself in your blog post.

The plugin was not actively linking at during the writing so I came back with the {edit} to let everyone know that I noticed this. I first said no affiliate links were used in the post but I noticed the plugin activate later in the day so just wanted to point out that I came back and edited my first statement.

Last week, I sent in 30 to 40 applications most of which with resumes… Thank you craigslist.

Seems like there are quite a few people in to that.

Haven’t really dealt with hostgator, I’ve been using bluehost since i started out and have been happy with them.

maybe it’s cos of some negative karma from some folks using rss2blog on the hostgator servers and getting their accounts shut down from too much resource usage
